I don't know if this is the same everywhere but I popped into my local primark earlier and saw this sign up in the womens' changing room. Quite a welcome shift I thought.

Excellent!

of course the like if RMW will still go in but at least it’s being highlighted

Hmm they did this a few years ago when they were in the press for men's behaviour in the mixed sex communal changing room but later admitted that they class trans identifying males as women under their policy, so I'd like them to explicitly say no men however they id before I trust that sign

On a thread about a Primark store which had "Men" and 'Any Gender" fitting rooms, several posters noted that the stores they used had rooms marked "Women" and "Any gender".

Primark Customer Services eventually replied to the thread OP saying that steps had been taken in the store she'd contacted them about, and confirming that fitting rooms should be “women’s” and “any gender” rather than “men’s” and “any gender”.

So it's Primark policy. Which is excellent.

If anyone sees an example of males using the women's fitting rooms, they should most definitely alert the store manager and Primark HQ.

Pre-SC judgment I had asked Primark about this and they refused to clarify that women does not include males/TW. So unless they add clarification this is probably more BS from them

The moment of truth will be when they have a biological male come in and say "I'm a woman". Have their employees been told what to do if that happens?

Sassysoonwins · 29/05/2025 14:18

It would be tempting to ask about self ID. I suspect the poor young girl who was running the changing room wouldn't know. Still, they're using the word 'women' rather than ladies (which never bothered me til all this nonsense) so it's a strong indicator they don't mean males.

You might imagine that having forced retailers to make extra facilities available to accommodate them, the "most vulnerable community" would be satisfied. But they won't be. They'll bleat that being forced to use these extra facilities outs them, and makes them even more vulnerable and they'll be attacked. Because it's not about being accommodated, it's about entry into women's single-sex spaces, whether for validation, or sexual gratification, or confirmation of a delusion, or just because they can. No doubt Primark is about to find that out.

My understanding is that if they are advertising this as a women only space that legally excludes trans identifying males. Hopefully a lawyer can come along and clarify this.
