Could anyone listening make sense of the Amnesty chair's answer to the last question about the nurses' female changing room? It made zero sense to me

Boo it sucks to be you. He's a man, he doesn't care about women. In conclusion as long as the transwomen gets to use the women's changing rooms he doesn't see what the issue is.

I mainly got that he couldn't handle the question at all so it all sounded like bluster

It was so revealing that he had no clue at all what privacy might mean or why it was a specifically female issue in the context he was being asked about.

He just wasn’t engaging with the meaning of the judgement he was only picking out the bits that suited him. It was really frustrating.

There seemed to be no understanding of why women might need spaces away from any men.

His argument seemed to be that 80% of violence against women was committed by partners, ex partners or friends, therefore there is no need to exclude men from women-only spaces.

He did sound quite uncomfortable when she mentioned the Darlington nurses. He must have thought that he wouldn't be required to comment on a real-life case where a man had been in a women's changing room, exposing himself, talking about getting his girlfriend pregnant and asking the other nurses why they hadn't taken their clothes off for him.

Does anyone know why I can't watch it on catch up yet please?

The grit thing is also interesting. And could go horribly wrong in schools wrt the current state of things - the gender guidance will have to be strong to make sure that isn’t another loophole within schools.
