I've emailed them but had nothing back.

I'm guessing that their soon-to-be-recruited DEI & Impact Lead will have a day one job to respond to all your emails! Or maybe to implement a legal policy?

I'll make sure I email again in late summer once the new person is bedded in then. Don't want them to overlook my query.

I know they rely on people's honesty, as they can't check the sex (or age, come to that) of all entrants.

But they could change their policy to make it clear what is expected - that you run as your own sex, or "unknown/prefer not to say," and if you win a race or are first in your group, or you take a record, then you are more visible than the ones hidden in the middle or trailing at the back. If you're obviously a man you should be stopped from being listed in the women's group.

Just checked two local results and the first woman this week in one was 16th overall, and in the other the first woman was 28th. One week I did spot a woman (a girl, really, she looked like a teenager) who came in at about 3rd place. She obviously was a real woman, but it's very unusual to see a female so near the front.

Mara Yamauchi does a weekly roundup of female-pretending male parkrunners. No sign of action from Park run so far.
