This is a humdinger of a letter.

https://x.com/SexMattersOrg/status/1918327425018036608?t=9GynM78bIsCb_4gYqK6yXA&s=19

We wrote to Matthew Taylor, Chief Executive of the NHS Confederation (@NHSConfed), asking him to withdraw guidance that encourages NHS employers to break the law.

Heather Brunskell- Evans also tweets;

This Matthew Taylor is the very same man who was a Moral Maze “judge” in 2017 who supported Jane Fae, (a man who identifies as female) over me who warned of the dangers of “gender medicine” for children. Just saying!!!

As I have just discovered from another post (sorry on my phone so cannot give the attribution) Section 111 the Equality Act makes it clear that inciting others to breach the Equality Act is in itself a breach of the Equality Act.

Brilliant, what with this and her letter to Stonewall, Maya is working hard to make sure that those (informally 🤔) advising organisations to break the law can’t claim ignorance. Given Cosmic’s contribution, I hope they back this up with legal action if necessary. I’d contribute £££ to that

Edited to add: a huge thankyou to Maya and to all at SexMatters

Ouch!!

Although can someone explain what NHS confederation does, and will it be absorbed into Department of Health like NHS England will be soon?

RethinkingLife · 03/05/2025 11:28

I am enormously proud of everything Sex Matters achieves. They are the best value for anything I have donated to in my life.
This is what happens when relevant specialists work together for the public good.

I don't think it will be absorbed as it's a membership rather than gov funded.

The NHS Confederation is the membership organisation that brings together, supports and speaks for the whole healthcare system in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

We promote collaboration and partnership working as the key to improving population health, delivering high-quality care and reducing health inequalities.

Interesting. ‘Jane Far’ tried to assure everyone on R4’s media show last week that the trans community had been trying to pull the plug on the Tavistock for years, but that the trans voices had been ignored.

They must have been very quiet voices.

I wholeheartedly agree. Started donating before they became a charity and carry on.

That's an excellent letter. The senior NHS staff pushing all this dangerous and illegal stuff must be on borrowed time surely?

mcduffy · 03/05/2025 15:00

Maya and the SM team are forces of nature. I was lucky enough to meet them when I interviewed for a trustee position. They’ve helped make our country a better, safer place to be a woman.

LonginesPrime · 03/05/2025 15:06

Well done Sex Matters!

I’m so glad they’re ploughing on with holding everyone to account while all these orgs have picked up on the snivelling line “well, the ball’s in the government’s court now, so I think you’ll find we’re waiting for them”.

These orgs all have legal advisors (whether in-house or external) that they use for everything else they do in the course of their operations, and they know ignorance of the law isn’t an excuse, so it’s so insanely frustrating to see them keep bleating out this mad charade of “I wouldn’t know how to ask our lawyers even if I wanted to”, like they don’t call legal all the time for all sorts of annoying and pointless questions.

It’s so incredibly disingenuous, and merely serves to demonstrate the extent of the stranglehold that Stonewall still has on this country.
