A shortening of 'wimmin', which is an alternative spelling of 'women'. Was sometimes used in old fashioned feminism! (Based on the erronous assumption that 'women' included 'men' or had its root etymology in the word 'men'). Now sometimes used as a gentle/humorous means of self deprecating humour.
