Some kind person gave me advice in a YouTube comment today on how to deal with body changes in peri-menopause. 😡

Some ignorant mansplainer gave me advice in a YouTube comment today on how to deal with body changes in peri-menopause.

There you go. Better?

There's an unnecessary word in the final sentence, too - 'assigned'. It should read 'And I was born male'. You still are, sunshine, as what you've written proves.

What is Gatorade? It sounds like it's made from alligators.

I think that yes age is a number - 100 percent. But the whole “you have complete control over your hormonal balance” thing to me it shows that they haven’t really experienced it. Full disclosure I’m not menopausal (I’m 40) but I was put on a pill that played havoc with my hormones and I feel like I was a completely different person. I saw my mum go through it and none of it is about will power. Of course you can do things to help you - but also you need to have information and I m not entirely sure that all doctors are really up to speed with it all just yet.

Oh my word. Yes very helpful 🤣

There are quite a few women like me who can’t even take HRT

CalypsoCuthbertson · 27/04/2025 15:05

I used to believe age was just a number and it’s all about mindset, and while I still believe that to some extent, also, wrinkles and death ARE going to come! No one can escape that. So to an extent, ‘age is just a number’ is magical thinking. But then they tend to be good at that, don’t they?

What tech? Is there some kind of monitor for hormones like there is for blood sugars? That can be used with all the extensive research that has been carried out for years into women's health? But at least we all know now where we've been going wrong, let's all just dance it out. Namaste.
