Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

Sadly the Pelicot court case is not the only one that shows women of all ages are not safe from the men in their homes

The man, named only as Rafael CDVM, was convicted in Cadiz, Spain, for repeatedly sexually assaulting his 83-year-old mother, who later died

and

a 27-year-old father was jailed for 17 years for raping and “prostituting” his seven-month-old daughter, and distributing footage of the abuse online. The man, named only as Santiago, had been under investigation since 2022 for circulating over 100 videos and 270 images of child pornography. Spanish police later discovered he had filmed two assaults on his daughter at his flat in Aluche, south-west Madrid.

Didn't take long for NAMALT did it?

Read the room FFS @LastRoIo , you’re in Feminist Chat, not Handmaidens Corner.

OP that’s horrific, I can’t even click on the links as the headlines say it all. Absolute monsters.

BiologicalRobot · 26/04/2025 00:12

I saw another article about the baby and father but didn't realise it was in Spain. I hope they suffer a lot in prison.

IwantToRetire · 26/04/2025 00:57

It certainly isn't just Spain.

I suspect the paper chose to add the other story to the newer one.

But we know from the Pelicot case that it wasn't just this her terrible abuse, but there was a surgeon who had done unspeakable things.

Sometimes when I see these stories I just skip over, but it seems disrepectful not to acknowledge that both a quite elderly woman and a very very young girl had suffered such terrible abuse.

Obviously not just Spain

What is wrong with these men? What is so, so wrong with them?

No. It's where we centre the women.

Why would you not hate men who rape and abuse their mothers and daughters?

IKR? And so many keystrokes when just those six would’ve done. And they’re still at it….
Won’t anyone think of the firefighters…..

LastRoIo · 26/04/2025 01:45

I mean maybe it's about 'punching up' and only going for the privileged groups? But isn't that kinda how the persecution of the Jews started? 🤔

Oh lovely.

In a thread about a baby and an old woman bring raped by their male relatives you have to bring up males, firefighters, Muslim and Jews?

Just fuck off.

Orollos · 26/04/2025 01:53

may i suggest everyone ignore this poster who is trying to deflect and derail the thread…

It’s disgusting and sickening what these men and so many others have done. I can only hope they are jailed for the rest of their life but sadly that’s unlikely given most justice systems around the world. Sadly as someone who used to work with children in care and also for a compensations organisation I have encountered a lot of these kind of cases.

There was a girl I was friends with as a kid whose dad had died, she grew up with her stepdad who she called dad from the age of 7. When her mum and stepdad split up in her teen years she continued contact with him through sleepovers at his flat.

One night out the blue during a visit he decided rape which he later admitted to in court. Of course it wasn’t out the blue for him - he’d probably been planning it for years. Utterly abhorrent. Not biologically
related but even then.

applgies for DM link (not a fan but do check it now and again) but I just stumbled upon this on their home page. Wasn’t even looking for it. www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14647943/John-Jessup-Las-Vegas-daughter-assault-hotel-sentenced.html

It's grim using such harrowing stories as a vehicle to push your agenda. Reading it and thinking "ooo, I can defo use this one to whip up some hate". It's just disrespectful in my eyes.

BiologicalRobot · 26/04/2025 02:20

Yes Orollos, everywhere you look there is male violence reported in mainstream media multiple times every day, it truly is sickening. But you really would think you would be safe from rape from your own son or father. Absolutely depraved😠

GraduationDay · 26/04/2025 02:30

‘’There are four billion men on this planet. Let's not pretend that comparatively rare stories like this in any way represent the majority. You're more likely to have your life saved by a man then taken by a man much as you won't want to admit it.‘’

You make a valid point. My reaction to these horror stories though is ‘why so many men relative to so few women?’ ‘Why do men in particular leave such a trail of carnage, and why do so many men sexually abuse?’ . What is it about men, compared with women, that causes this and what can be done to help men to prevent this behaviour? Clearly we need strategies that focus on men somehow, so we need to be willing to articulate that these problems are to do with men. If we are not allowed to do that because the good men might feel offended, then appropriate, targeted strategies can’t be developed. And also - I think women discuss these cases on forums like this because it can be useful to warn each other, but also to show victims that they are not alone. The vast majority of rapes are never reported, and the vast majority of those that are, are not punished or publicised in the media. So the ones we hear about are only a tiny tip of the iceberg. It can help women in our efforts to safeguard each other and our children if we are aware of what a not insignificant percentage of men are capable of.

IwantToRetire · 26/04/2025 02:55

I just dont understand, given the shocking crimes committed against women by male relatives someone wants to clog up the thread with totally irrelevant comments.

Even the main stream media know that most violent crimes against women are committed in their homes by men who know or are related to them.

Show some respect and indicate you have a least a basic knowledge of the very real threat of violence against women.

Or if you really dont want to or aren't interested, start your own thread about not all men.

Just gross.
