'Protests and Suffragettes group comes out in favour of 'inclusion'

'Protests and Suffragettes is a creative project and social enterprise which recovers and celebrates the histories of women activists across Scotland. We are based in Govan, Glasgow and for many years focused on local herstories. We became a social enterprise in 2022.'

This group has done some good work. But in the wake of the SC judgement, they have just come out in favour of genderpish:

'we use the word ‘woman’ inclusively
In all our work, we use the words ‘woman’ and ‘women’ in the broadest sense, being inclusive of trans and intersex women who have existed throughout history.'

Ah yes… all those well respected transwomen suffragettes!

Pretty sure it was a transwoman who came up with the idea of using toffee hammers to break windows and it’s no coincidence that the suffragettes began to use the trans colours of purple green and white.

Waitwhat23 · 22/04/2025 19:58

So they're men's rights activists.

Who believe in compelled speech and 'reeducation'

Strange time to come out swinging on behalf of males.

Zone2NorthLondon · 22/04/2025 20:01

You purposefully misuse a word to be inclusive? That’s fuckery right there
You cannot credibly make such nonsense statements and actually try garner support
You are coming across as total bams. Jog on

Augarden · 22/04/2025 20:06

Funny how when women were banned from voting, they had no problem defining who that was!

Zone2NorthLondon · 22/04/2025 20:07

Out of interest how do you see this thread panning out? We all accept your revised actual definition of women,to be inclusive?

Just to clarify, I am not in any way connected to the group.

Hence my dismay at the genderpish.

Check out some of OP's other posts, to see her perspective. She's a fantastic contributor - I learn so much from her!

I'll stop fangirling now - my dinner's ready.😂

Apparently inverted commas are invisible to some people, who knew?

IllustratedDictionaryOfTheDoldrums · 22/04/2025 20:25

To be fair, they're just identifying as suffragettes which as everyone knows means they're just role playing as suffragettes and are not suffragettes at all.

And of course the brave TW suffragettes suffered just as much as the real women through not having the vote because only those born male had it...

... Hang on...

I’m liking genderpish. Pish is an underused put down
needs to be pronounced as PISH no piss. Guttural, like a radge would say it

ArabellaScott · 22/04/2025 20:43

Can assure you it's well used in Glasgow!

Mince! That’s another good put down too

teawamutu · 22/04/2025 20:58

My Glaswegian colleague is educating me on the use of 'aye' to indicate anything from gentle scepticism to outright disbelief.

ArabellaScott · 22/04/2025 21:09

Is she, aye?

You've just made me think of this -

As well as his 'in Scotland, we don't ask why, we demand how' (bus fare sketch)

- YouTube

Enjoy the videos and music that you love, upload original content and share it all with friends, family and the world on YouTube.

Zone2NorthLondon · 22/04/2025 21:15

If we are doing all things Scottish, how’d about How= why?
I was late this morning?

How?
Had to go back as i forgot my pieces and then the bus didn’t let anyone on at the stop

BreadInCaptivity · 22/04/2025 21:18

Is there anything that TRA’s and Allies feel shame about appropriating from women?

The Suffragette movement is a pretty low blow even by their standards.

But it’s all part of the M.O. isn’t it?

Encapsulate everything within the “trans inclusive” umbrella leaving women who object to stand in the rain.

Maybe they might want to consider that if Emily Wilding Davidson had been a TW, she wouldn’t have had to throw herself in front of the King’s horse in protest (and died) ; she could have dressed up as a jockey and ridden off with it.

BreadInCaptivity · 22/04/2025 21:27

Or you could go Welsh…..”Ych a fi” as grandmother used as an admonition for anything that deserved her disgust.

She was also fond of pointing out people who snuffed out one person’s candle to make theirs shine brighter. The “snuffer’s”.

Wise woman (and ahead or her time in having a senior business role in the 70’s in a manufacturing business).

Fierce feminist born in the 1920’s.

The “inclusive feminists” of today (who have no idea what her and her mother fought for and the challenges they faced just to work after marriage) would face her bloody wrath.

MarieDeGournay · 22/04/2025 22:48

Trans + suffragettes is a bit like matter + antimatter, so I like to think of groups like this cancelling themselves out in a puff of nothingness..

Other times, I think we should just laugh at how irrational and silly they are.

And it's nice to think that the Supreme Court had a few snorts of derision at this kind of thing too, given the withering put-downs in their rulingSmile

It's this, a million times.
