There is repeated mention throughout the judgement that 'certificated sex' is wholly unworkable and would drive a coach and horses through the rest of the act and protections for women, lesbian and gay people, and women with trans identities.
If they're stupid enough to do this - and yes I think they are - it would basically be to openly destroy the rights of others and wreck the act so that these men can express themselves without boundaries. And this time there will be no hiding it, it will be the 'remove women's/gay people's/trans identified women's protections in law' bill, that's what it will be seen and known as all the way.
Basically it would fix men's rights as supreme in law. And wreck equalities law. And overturn the supreme court. And seriously impact on Labour's voters, not the middle class shouty ones but the big red wall groups who have a grip on reality and live in the real world.
