Why haven’t the TRAs with violent signs been arrested?

CrazyOldMe · 20/04/2025 16:14

At yesterday’s protests, there were several signs calling for violence towards “TERFs” and the like.

Have these people been arrested, do we know?

If not, why not? The likes of Lucy Connolly got more than two years in prison for a tweet advocating for violence. We have also seen several arrests over signs at the Palestine/ Israel marches.

Sorry that's who I meant. The offensive tranny (not pissed off)..yes there are lots who have been shunned. I meant more those who are still active parts of the community. Few if any of them have previously spoke out against the violence.
You can support your community while also condemning violence towards 'terfs'. I wouldn't tolerate violent signs about trans at a WRN meet but it doesn't seem to work the other way

I won't go into details, but I've reported GC posts on here that crossed a line, for the same reasons you give. And when my local BNP knuckledragger posted a "don't be a gender offender" sticker (visual at www.peaktrans.org/some-tras-must-be-the-dumbest-people-alive/) on a lamp post, I peeled it off because being trans isn't a problem, it's invading opposite-sex spaces that I have a problem with.

But but hurty words. The real violence is pointing out someone's bad behavior (but only if they are trans). Tra say nasty words, gc say nasty words both sides are bad - funny how the hurty words from tra is threatening death and violence and the gc side is just pointing out a male is a male. Christin will never see the difference because misgendering is the worst crime ever.

I recall Joan Smith being against laws against misogyny because she was concerned that it would be used against actual women if we criticised transwomen. But now that the SC have clarified that TWANW, is it time to rethink this, I wonder? Then, we would have the actual law on our side, in getting the police to take action against these death threats against women?

Imnobody4 · 21/04/2025 23:38

Yvette Cooper has condemned the vandalism but no mention of threats. Interesting priorities.

"Yvette Cooper, the home secretary, said the graffiti was “disgraceful”. In response to the damage to the Fawcett statue, a spokesperson for Bridget Phillipson, the women and equalities minister, said she “utterly condemns the appalling defacement of such an important national monument to the fight for women’s rights. There is no excuse for this disgraceful criminal damage.”

Graffiti is found on seven statues of historic figures in Parliament Square following a trans rights protest.

Because society is so used to misogynistic abuse it’s not perceived as abuse.

This.

If it was placards calling for ANY OTHER vulnerable group to be burned, Starmer would show up to prosecute them himself the next day.

I still can’t get over the woman who made a horrible, awful twitter post about immigrants that was the same level as bad being jailed for 35 months. None of this lot will even get 35 days.

Sadly this isn’t quite the case. There have been countless incidents of violent placards against Jews and zionists at the pro-Palestinian marches, and very few arrests.

I suspect there is a huge overlap. Violent thugs who have realised if they surround themselves with self righteous twits they will be cheered on. Anti semites can be out in the open pretending to protesting about Israel and misogynists pretending they don't hate women but are just 'trans allies' Rentamob.

Yes I agree. Massive overlap between TRA and the more aggressive pro-Palestine, antisemitic movement.

I think in this case though the evil israelis are seen in the same light as evil terfs. The pro Hamas lot get away all sorts of threats against Israelis, government, police, on their demos. Whereas threats by 'the far right' against the said group get treated differently.
I've seen Jewish people protesting peacefully and being attacked by the 'from the river to the sea' mob and the police doing nothing. Similar to when TRA are attacking women.

TonTonMacoute · 24/04/2025 11:02

Apparent the Met told Dame Diana Johnson that there were no hate signs, and that those shown in the media were from other events.

The good old Torygraph has handed in evidence of several placards of death threats and other violent messages and can prove that there were present at the recent March. So police are going to look again.

I was wondering what would happen if women asked to have a big event to mark this important ruling. I would put money on it being refused because the police couldn't guarantee the safety of the attendees.

Tomatotater · 24/04/2025 19:01

I wonder why the Met are so desperate to minimise this? Are they really so blind they don't see?
Their reputation, especially among women after the Sarah Everard case and also all the other disgusting WhatsApp message leaks is in the toilet, yet they pretend they haven't seen death threats made against women? So much for ' a few bad apples'. Useless.

Can you imagine if this was against any other minority group? The picture with the noose?
Really?.

Remind me why any sane woman would want such a man in a changing room with her?

Absolutely vile, isn't it?

But not enough !

Absolutely. Talking of which, I saw some Palestinian banners and flags at the protest. I wonder how long they think trans people would last in Palestine? Such ignorance on every count.

In some conservative Muslim countries, trans is used as a form of gay conversion therapy, so they would probably be fine. Shame about the gay people, but who cares about them anyway. They're so last century!

They know full well and their inaction is a deliberate "fuck you" to women, a public statement that even after the outrage about poor Sarah, they will continue to be misogynists. If there ever was a police force that deserved to be defunded, it's the Met.

Is the Masons a seedy hotbed of troonery? Do you mean they'd rather be Brenda rather than Brian, so they've taken on the global political establishment to make it happen?

‘Vulnerable’ doing a lot of heavy lifting there…

Remember during covid when women went to honour Sarah Everard invluding the Princess of Wales? Women were wrestled to the ground, handcuffed and arrested for attending a peaceful memorial.
Yet men dressed as women yesterday were allowed to vandalise statues and openly display hateful placards against women even death threats and not a hair on their bad wigs were touched.
This is what we are dealing with now.

when you put those 2 protests next to each other, the differences are immense aren't they. 🤨 it really is fucking appalling. 🤬
