Trans activists deface statue of feminist hero Millicent Fawcett

Trans rights activists defaced a statue of Millicent Fawcett during a protest against the Supreme Court’s ruling on the definition of a woman.

The Parliament Square statue of the suffragist, a prominent campaigner for women’s rights in the 19th century, was daubed with graffiti reading “f-- rights” on Saturday.

It happened as thousands of protesters marched through central London in an “emergency demonstration” against Wednesday’s decision that only biological women are women.

The landmark Supreme Court ruling, which has caused many public bodies to review their gender policies, stated that laws against sex-based discrimination should only apply to biological women.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed that it was investigating criminal damage to seven statues in Westminster during the protest.

It’s so symbolic of the misogyny they feel towards any women with power and actually scrap that all women.

But an “own goal” because the British public has very little tolerance for people who deface public monuments.

I wonder if the Fawcett Society will have anything to say about it... Just kidding, I know they will stay silent like they have throughout.

Transactivists showing their true colours......no woman would deface the statue of such a prominent advocate of women's rights. Appalling behaviour.

Just had a quick look and actually saw some posters defending it!
The vast majority are shocked of course, but still who defends this kind of thing?
If the piss protest does go ahead will they find a way to defend that? Utterly bizarre.

I think the SC judgment has brought some TRAs out of the woodwork...

As others have said, it isn't really surprising because behing the superficial media coverage we know how they behave.

So maybe it is good that this is now known more publicly.

But also hope it makes people think are these "hooligans" against women's rights? (Maybe).

Also interesting because on other marches, depending on the issue, if there are a few causing damage it is interesting to see if the media reports it as just a few bad apple, or tries to make out this is the attitude of the march.

But there is no apology from the organisers.

Just had a quick look and going by the headlines, it seems the media is still determined to go on about "gender" ie not even recognising that the ruling was about biological sex.

Are they really that stupid or is it all part of the highly sucessful TRA campaign over the years to make people think that sex is gender, and gender can be changed every day.

But biological sex cant. ie the media is still helping the TRAs by blurring the actual difference.

Damaging women's rights statues, pissing out of their penises in public and holding up signs advocating violence towards women who disagree with them.

And yet they want access to women's safe spaces because they're not a threat?

To be fair, the Fawcett Society has been trashed from within by the women running it!

There will always be a few wrong 'uns who take things too far on protests. The vast majority weren't doing that or holding up inappropriate signs, but let's focus on a tiny handful of wrong doers shall we? Well that it what you lot always do with trsnsgender people anyway instead of focusing on the majority who just want to go about their business in peace.

I just checked and the graffiti says "fag rights" which sounds more like something a far right person who was anti the protest would write. So am very sceptical about this now.

I had no choice but to distance myself.

I suspect that in terms of the queer politics that is behind the TR movement, the use of the word "fag" is in an ironic way would be just the sort of "progressive politics" they claim to have.

Just as Pride has become a display of fetishes, and genitalia.

They see gender critical feminists as old fashioned white middle class women who are not only reactionary, but anti sex(ual activity of any sort), prudish and it is oh so funny to upset them.

If it wasn't so serious you would be hard pressed not to think it is like a bunch of immature school boys only interested in being smutty and edgy because it will make their mum cross.
