Disappointed in Sophie Willan

She knows what things are like for the most vulnerable women in society, so I was disappointed to read this post on her Instagram today.

Clearly their 'existence,' as in are TW W, was up for debate.

The last 18 hours have been filled with disappointment from both people I know in real life and slebs. I’m sure about 70% are hypocrites and cowards, and the remaining 30 don’t have much going on upstairs.

It’s not the government that’s told anybody anything, why are these bloody virtue signallers often so ill informed? In their rush to gather their praise from their followers they can’t even arm themselves with the correct information.

Well look, I find it a perfect metaphor that FWS was brought together by Mumsnet.

Us mums are the scolds, the limiters, the sorters out in our household and that doesn't always make us popular.

But mum is usually right and it looks like we were the ones who had to sort this giant mess out.

Let the foot stamping and moaning start. It's Stonewall they should be angry at for massively overreaching.

Lots of misogynistic language along the lines of ‘dusty terfs’ in the comments, which of course go unchallenged by SW.

I mean, it’s only old wimmin, isn’t it? They don’t need defending.

Most supporters I see are saying things that blatantly not true. No one is being erased.
Genuine transwomen should want their own titles and protections.
I suspect someone like Sophie have a friend or relative who is trans and they’re okay, they like/love them so they can’t see the issue. My pro friend has a trans friend, so therefore they are all okay in her eyes.

Ive just seen a local business make a big thing about anyone can use their toilet. It’s a single use toilet, the lack of understanding is astonishing.

Also the "cruel ruling" comment. The law isn't cruel, it isn't kind, nor is it hungry, tired or pissed off. It's just factual.

@PinkPonyClubber I’m in a hospital right now and they also have a big all genders sign on the single occupant, unisex toilet. I mean, they might as well add “all religions may use this loo” as well for all the difference it makes.

Siobhan McSweeney who i also like, has posted a few similar things which is disappointing. It’s not surprising though.

i console myself by thinking that anyone else in the public eye that I love who hasn’t posted along these lines is probably pleased with the ruling but just not brave enough to say so. And there’s loads of them. I wish they were but at the same time i understand why they might just keep out of it.

Sophie Willan, Siobhan McSweeney and my own personal disappointment Self Esteem do all have big “ queer” (ugh at the term) fan bases, so I do wonder if posts like that are mainly about retaining their fanbase, so rabid is the reaction towards anyone who isn’t devoutly TWAW.

Absolutely love Sophie and her work. She clearly does not know what she’s talking about re this issue.
