Listening to PM tonight, where the story is at the top of the program.
Who do they talk to?
Michael Foran. Obviously a thoroughly decent chap.
Then
A tw, very against the whole thing, obviously.
But what about one of the women who led the appeal. Or any woman.

It is about time they had Helen Joyce on really, but they would probably rather stick glue in their ears.

MorrisZapp · 16/04/2025 17:32

Jane Garvey on Times Radio had one guest on, Moira White. And she barely challenged his utter gibberish. I had my head in my hands.

Needapadlockonmyfridge · 16/04/2025 17:55

Interesting choice of people to comment on this!

What I wouldn't give to hear JKR on PM. Evan would not stand a chance.

HillyHollyShandy · 16/04/2025 17:58

I’m so glad you said this OP. I’m infuriated about exactly this!

Ah the bloke broadcasting corporation does it again.

If you want to opt out of paying for your license (easy to do if you just use better streaming services that are a bit less... blokey.... ) you can do so here Dont need a licence - TV Licensing

The BBC have been using Heather Herbert as a Trans spokesperson.
They didn't mention Herbert's claim to fame however.

I know most of Mumsnet despise GB News but they do currently have Helen Joyce on as a special guest on Michelle Dewberry’s programme.

That's him? Ewwwwwwww.

RoyalCorgi · 16/04/2025 18:49

I listened to PM too. As you said, Michael Foran. OK, fair enough, he's a decent bloke, though there's any one of a number of brilliant female lawyers they could have had on. Then Maggie Chapman, of all people. Then Helen Lewis, who did quite a good job. But why not have a woman who was actually involved in the campaign? It's just so fucking ridiculous.

RoyalCorgi · 16/04/2025 18:49

Oh, and then they had Harriet Harman who tried to pretend that she knew all along what a woman was and none of this was her fault. Breathtaking.

Fancyfencepost · 16/04/2025 18:50

Reporting Scotland, what can I say?
Definitely a “nothing to see here” vibe….

Sausagenbacon · 16/04/2025 18:55

Yes, Harriet Harman, what a hopeless case she is. Also Bridget Phillips on, taking the 'we said that all along' line.

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 16/04/2025 18:58

Michael Foran’s analysis is cited by the SC in the Judgement so I think it is fair to use him as an expert commentator. It might have been a question of who was available.

However, have you seen this interview with him on BBC News? The BBC news anchor pushed back on much of his nonsense.

Yes, I thought that she did really well despite some goady questions from Herbert @Zita60

roseyposey · 16/04/2025 19:07

World at One had that Jane chap talking gibberish - “the ruling could be nothing after all”. A lot of hyperbole about the T being “excluded from society” and how hearing the ruling made him so upset he vomited up his breakfast. Poor Jane. Go and have a little lie down.

In my experience, HardHat is even hated by the women and "women" she's supposedly sticking up for.

roseyposey · 16/04/2025 19:16

Jane also mumbled something about “how do we determine what exactly biological sex is?”

God give us strength…..

The News Agents podcast, with Emily Maitlis, has just put out an issue on it. I'm listening now...but it did also just have ?Jon Sopel? describing it as an issue that affects very few people!

The judge specifically said it affected half the population, Jon. But go off.

SwissBall · 16/04/2025 20:14

It’s not just the BBC with terrible guests, Freda Wallace is on LBC with Iain Dale.

Jane Garvey is such a disappointment as a former Woman’s Hour presenter.

This annoyed me too.

I agree Helen Lewis did a surprisingly good job on PM. She often sneers at GC campaigners in that “I’m not like other girls” way especially when she guests on the Blocked and Reported podcast.

I was just listening to that awful person and he said women were making up stuff about assaults and it was all in our heads. Joanna Cherry was magnificent!

Edited to change “Jo” to “he”.
