I am so sick of this shit, how is anyone ok with this? It’s absolutely dystopian.

I truly think we need to follow the science on this. I understand that this makes people uncomfortable, but why be so hateful about it? There are numerous ways that biological stuff gets mixed up. You can have a person with xx chromosomes and an xy presentation. Who would ever know? Why does it really matter? This is all distraction from keeping people who do real harm from accountability (ehem, Rowling, cough, cough).

I would hope we can all see the humanity of others, the Light within each person as sacred. I wonder how many people ask WHY people want to keep them upset over this issue. Maybe it's so you don't complain about the actual inequities in pay for women in sports, or the actual problems of domestic violence...my point is there are issues far greater than this for us to worry over if we are truly interested in full equality.

Cool cool let's just check our chromosomes and segregate accordingly

TheOtherRaven · 13/04/2025 10:10

No, it's all fine, we'll just clone Layla. We'll have one at the door of every female space, she'll see souls and hand out crystals, Kier will burn a bit of sage poof, all women's issues like being able to access refuges not to be killed, and to not be raped in prisons and hospital wards will melt away.

Okay!

Stuff?

the Light within each person as sacred.

Got it.

the Light within each person as sacred

My battery must have failed. My sacred light isn't working. Sad

LurkyMcLurcker · 13/04/2025 13:44

Moving away from the sacred light (got a head torch so all good)

I cannot help but to feel a slightly smug satisfaction that these two athletes who failed when competing against men and then decided to compete against women - now have to compete against each other.

I mean, how pissed off would you be? All that trouble to be in women’s sports and you back competing with a man

gutted for all the women whose hard work, dedication, hopes and ambition has been trampled upon along the way but the irony is quite delightful none the less.

PrettyDamnCosmic · 13/04/2025 15:35

MrsOvertonsWindow · 12/04/2025 16:41

Again? After watching the risible arguments for male supremacy in women's sport being played out in a UK tribunal this week by self interested "not women", the only saving grace is that they're blowing themselves up with their relentless narcissism and disdain for women's rights.
The public are completely on the side of women and girls the more this travesty continues.

Interestingly the French for transvestite is travesti.

I find if you take the batteries out, give them a good shake and put them back in, that sometimes helps. Or smack the whole damn thing against the floor a couple of times.

Generally, I find sunlight to be a much better solution 😉

Unfortunately I don't think they are fighting each other though, the reduxx article suggests they're in different age categories.

PriOn1 · 13/04/2025 16:46

Edited to add, slowest cross post ever with the above… my iPad is barely functional on here and it took me ages to post.

I’m confused. There are posts saying they are fighting each other, but the article provided says, “Suchoski, 40, and Daniel “Anne” Crocket, believed to be 66, are entering their respective age categories for the women’s epee at the tournament, both of which are set to begin on April 11 at the Los Angeles Convention Center”

So did these two males, of very different ages, still somehow end up fighting each other, or did they get into finals in their own categories, or are they merely competing, as it states in @Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g‘s article?

NImumconfused · 13/04/2025 20:02

I've just looked up the results - I can't see Crocket listed so possibly withdrew? Suchowski came 10th out of 15 competitors in the class. Not fighting each other that I could see anyway.

Surely Prof Dr Dr Dr Moran must be up for all of this year's Nobel prizes with this stunning piece of work, she better starts thinking what she'll wear to the prize giving dinner.

Prof Dame DR DR DR Moran!

Incredibly she missed out on all the awards. She made this remark in a Parliamentary debate seven years ago. I've never been able to take her seriously since. https://hansard.parliament.uk/commons/2018-11-21/debates/BE06C5D4-E549-4F94-87B1-9B77F32EA155/Self-IdentificationOfGender

So, we are back to 'gendered souls'.

Really? Seven years ago?

Some things can never be put behind you!

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 16/04/2025 06:52

Yes, 21st November 2018. How time flies when you're having fun! That LibDem baroness whose name escapes me said even earlier than that, I think, that if the House of Commons ended up 50% male MPs and 50% transwomen MPs she would consider that was gender equality. That's not in Hansard, though. Someone who was at the public meeting where she said it (Fawcett Society?) reported it here.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 16/04/2025 07:56

Here we are. The screenshot is from a later thread. This is the link to the original thread where Anlaf reported Sal Brinton's comments. https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/3310443-Fawcett-Society-Live-stream-from-5-30pm-Courage-Calls-Ask-her-to-stand

Igneococcus · 16/04/2025 08:23

This discussion reminds me so much of the creationist/evolution discussions of the early internet. Someone carefully lays out all the arguments for evolution, fossil records, mutation, phylogenetic trees, time scales,... and without fail someone would come on smuggly and say "But the eye? How can you complain the complexity of the eye without a creator, you silly-billy?". Same here, no matter how carefully the biology is explained you can guarantee someone will come on saying "but intersex!!!" or whatever their favourite fallback line is.

TropicofCapricorn · 16/04/2025 08:27

I'm waiting for one of them to be all "but
..but...but...this isn't fair..I can't be expected to compete against them... Because umm
. because of... They're umm...not uh..umm they have an advantage"
