Helen Webberly of Gender GP posted a video comparing protecting women's sports with a mouth swab for sex verification to auschwitz.

In the transcript @ArabellaScott posted above this stood out for me:

The use of the word it which I've bolded struck me as not seeing the person as a person, but a thing. Similarly "the the" external image instead of their external image referrs, in my opinion, not to a person but a thing.

Having read a bunch of other comments I think the saviour complex is spot on, but I think there's another thing going on here. Munchausen syndrome by proxy.
MSbP in the trans context is ususally parents trying to make personal emotional worth gains through their children. What if a MSbP sufferer didn't have enough supply of what they get from performing MSbP? You'd have to get it elsewhere. Cast your net wider. Can you imagine how much supply to sate your MSbP needs you could harvest from all the confused young people on the internet? How much saving you could do. How important your holy cause would be. How much supply you could reap. Why limit your supply collection from just one or two children when there's so many out there? Industrial scale Munchausen syndrome by proxy.
That's my opinion anyway.

She is now advertising to parents on Facebook. She just popped up on my feed.

Her profile describes herself as a doctor. Although she isn’t currently registered as one from what I understand.

No. She didnt do the revalidation process, so has had her license removed.

I’m no fan of Dr Webberley - but she hasn’t had her license “removed”, she opted not to undergo revalidation so gave the license up.

She is still registered with the GMC, and she is currently in good standing with the GMC.

She can still describe herself as a doctor as she is a doctor.

What she can’t do is practise medicine, as she doesn’t currently have a license. She is also bound to follow the GMC’s rules for registrants (basically not brining the profession into disrepute).

If anyone has evidence she is practicing medicine they should report via the GMC website. Similarly, concerns re bringing the profession into disrepute can also be reported via the website.

(I would hope that the GMC would not sanction a registrant for expressing GC views. I thus expect the same protection for doctors expressing views I disagree with. I haven’t seen her recent posts so I don’t know whether they go beyond expressing views I disagree with.)

This is all incorrect. She didn't engage with revalidation & has just stopped paying the annual retention fee so had her registration removed. That's why her registration says "Not Registered - Administrative Reason". She surrendered her licence to practise in July 2024. If she had given up her registration in the correct way so as to be in good standing with the GMC the entry on the register would be "Not Registered - Having relinquished registration".

Webberley is not permitted to work as a doctor & should not describe herself as such.

If that’s the case then I withdraw the bit about being in good standing!

She is entitled to refer to herself as a doctor though - her primary medical qualification has not been revoked. (I should emphasise that I do not think her conduct is in any way appropriate for a doctor!)

Her primary medical qualification is MB ChB from the University of Birmingham attained in 1992. She does not have a doctorate. She is only entitled to call herself a retired doctor or more accurately a disgraced former doctor.

I thought she had been struck off? Isn’t that why she practises out of Tenerife or somewhere random?

Her previous grift was giving Clomid to desperate infertile couples, regardless of the cause of their infertility. This is unsafe. She has no background in reproductive medicine. And before that, testosterone to bodybuilders “concerned about potential deficiency”. She’s a drug dealer, essentially.

Helen and Michael Webberley have both resigned from the company GenderGP Education Limited, now Autonomix Ltd, but the company’s registered office address is still the same as their correspondence address. It’s different from that of the (only) director who was appointed on the day they resigned.
