I think the Times is free to read online this weekend.
It's a bizarre article to promote their new book.
Comments are allegedly being moderated via the USA but some terms have broken through...

OP posts:
CrazyOldMe · 16/03/2025 22:12

I refuse to click on the article but could it be rage bait for clicks?

Peregrina · 16/03/2025 22:29

I am really pleased to have had the Matthew Syed article pointed out to me.

lifeturnsonadime · 16/03/2025 22:47

Isn't this the bloke who's partly responsible for the demise of the Democrats with Kamala Harris' fawning over him 'being a girl for 100 days'?

I can't quite believe after that he's still grifting.

Not clicking either.

NotAtMyAge · 16/03/2025 22:52

The article itself is fawning drivel, but the comments below the line are pure gold. Times readers are having none of this nonsense.

PickAChew · 16/03/2025 23:03

This is what I've been doing wrong for 55 years. To woman properly I should be pressing the back of my hand to my temple, while I contemplate my barbie pouch.

This isn't the only article that hasn't convinced me that I've missed too much by not subscribing.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 16/03/2025 23:07

Matthew Syed is definitely a good guy, fantastic Janice Turner article.

When there was backlash to the Budweiser campaign described in the article in the ST, Mulvaney was quoted as saying The Wouldn't Do This To a Man!

I had to say out loud You Are a Man!

Fucking idiot.

And yes, very disappointed in the ST.

Joolsin · 17/03/2025 00:02

I can't see the comments

There are not enough vomit emojis in the universe to deal with the term 'Barbie pocket'...

I'm frightened to look...

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 17/03/2025 00:14

Dylan is looking increasingly weird though. Watching the Bud Light commercial where Dylan is stirring up the foam whilst cavorting in a bubble bath, (in which Dylan appears to be fully clothed ( 😃🤔) , and looking at Dylan now, you would be hard pressed to say they were the same person.

I suppose it is disconcerting to have the ( very profitable) rug pulled out overnight. What will Dylan do next ? Will Dylan be the celebrity detransitioner? Or will they claim it was all just a giant leg pull? let’s hope so; because otherwise Dylan is going to be a major casualty of this baloney.

Nike sponsored her to model a sports bra for women and she has posted about carrying tampons in her handbag in case a woman needed one. “I thought the letters stood for small, medium and large based on the size of your Barbie pouch,” she said in a social media video, holding up the tampon, “but after googling I found out it’s actually the level of your flow.”

I never during my life, even as a girl-child having my first period, thought that tampon size referred to anything other than absorbency.

It's as if this man doesn't have periods and never will, so has never had to know anything about them.

Interesting that the Times paywall is down this weekend and columnist Matthew Syed took the opportunity to share this article by Janice Turner about how fabulous JK Rowling is. www.thetimes.com/article/e112d00a-64e8-11ec-b279-fa13aec304af?shareToken=8134565321e27b0bc50932cfe9c667c3

What an amazing article. I don’t know who I admire more, JKR or Janice Turner

Googling.

So he doesn't have any female friends.
It's never occurred to him there might be advantages in leading people to believe he actually has lots of female friends.
And it's never occurred to any of his editors or PR people either.
Trans is SUCH a strange world.

I think he just wanted to say something degrading about women's anatomy.

Because women do that all the time...

EconomyClassRockstar · 18/03/2025 00:17

I find this quite interesting, but mainly in a "how TikTok works' kind of a way. I haven't seen Dylan on my FYP in well over a year so I just presumed they'd finally gone away! Definitely too much Downton watching.

Barbie pouch. He is making a lot of money out of his misogynist pisstake.

Thank you, thats a fantastic article!

Peregrina · 19/03/2025 10:16

He is neither woman nor girl. He's missed his vocation - he should have gone in for pantomime.

Brefugee · 19/03/2025 10:22

So he doesn't have any female friends.

that's probably because he's not like other girls 😂

Peregrina · 19/03/2025 10:33

I suppose that sort of behaviour was never against the law, but now, we are supposed to bow down and worship it, instead of thinking that it's a bit sick.

Helleofabore · 19/03/2025 10:14

He won't be making any friends among transpeople for that. It's such a grotesque parody. So... alienate women and transpeople, men aren't the slightest bit interested in him...who's left as an audience?

The crazed look is also very concerning.

It's bizarre. I mean, I dislike drag but I can see why people get attracted to the sparkly costumes, the dramatic makeup, the dance moves even if I personally think it's distasteful. But this? He seems to be taking the piss out of women and out of transpeople. Who's left? Gullible politicians? TV panel shows for has-beens? Not the ad companies, they've had their fingers burnt.

Helleofabore · 19/03/2025 11:09

All in the joy of being a ‘girl’, grey.
