Dylan Mulvaney - Sunday Times Magazine Interview

I think the Times is free to read online this weekend.
It's a bizarre article to promote their new book.
Comments are allegedly being moderated via the USA but some terms have broken through...

Why is this preening non-entity getting all this publicity?

BooToYouHalloween · 16/03/2025 17:25

Disappointing that the journalist didn’t challenge this fantasist in any way eg pointing out how utterly offensive his shtick is to women or how being a woman is entirely biological despite his protestations.

There was recently also another big interview in The Times - maybe it was the Saturday magazine last week - that was surprisingly “pro” trans with the mother of a young adult who tragically died by suicide which the mother blamed on the lack of acceptance of the child’s trans status despite the fact there were clearly a number of co morbidities at play. Not sure what’s going on over there.

BooToYouHalloween · 16/03/2025 17:26

Btw the journalist is the same one who wrote the viral Ballerina Farm interview a few months ago so clearly she is able to challenge an interviewee - or at least ask more than softball questions - when she wants to.

CrazyOldMe · 16/03/2025 17:27

Ignore.

Ignore. Ignore. Ignore.

I swear we're the only ones giving this clown any attention.

NameChangedOfc · 16/03/2025 19:05

Bizarre article. I feel as if I had inadvertedly watched trough some random family's window and had seen things I didn't need to see.
All these life stories of transhood make me cringe.

fabricstash · 16/03/2025 19:06

No way am I clicking!

Joolsin · 16/03/2025 19:18

I've got the print copy of the magazine. Such a stereotypical read. A classic "trans" upbringing:- over-religious US family, parents divorced when he was 4, father disappointed with effeminate little boy who wanted to go to dance class rather than play baseball. Every box ticked.

Interesting that the Times paywall is down this weekend and columnist Matthew Syed took the opportunity to share this article by Janice Turner about how fabulous JK Rowling is. www.thetimes.com/article/e112d00a-64e8-11ec-b279-fa13aec304af?shareToken=8134565321e27b0bc50932cfe9c667c3

MissScarletInTheBallroom · 16/03/2025 19:20

HermioneWeasley · 16/03/2025 19:27

That's a cracking article. Just shared it with my (terfy) brother so I don't lose it.

Yeah me neither.

KettlePolly · 16/03/2025 19:30

I see him as doing a performance piece along the lines of being a drag queen as opposed to genuinely believing himself to be a woman.

I knew Matthew Syed was a good 'un.

FourSeasonsLobelia · 16/03/2025 20:00

Absolutely cracking Janice Turner article.

Tallisker · 16/03/2025 20:17

It’s from 2021 but still excellent

MrsMitford3 · 16/03/2025 20:18

Those pictures literally look nothing like him.

Ridiculous air brushed beyond recognition vanity project.

How can ppl be buying into this giant con-he is laughing all the way to the bank.

And him saying days of "girlhood" is infuriating.

Appalonia · 16/03/2025 20:23

Very disappointed in The Times, who've run excellent articles on GC issues in the past. I just skim read it cos I just CBA with this ridiculous drivel. I'm so exhausted by this crap...

DuesToTheDirt · 16/03/2025 20:40

Nike sponsored her to model a sports bra for women and she has posted about carrying tampons in her handbag in case a woman needed one.

Oh FFS, transwomen and the tampon obession again. I have never in my life handed a tampon to a friend in need, never mind a stranger, nor have I ever requested one from someone else (though I did once as a teenager get an emergency sanitary towel from a close friend). I have certainly never ever ever carried tampons around just in case some other woman wanted one.

I agree, I was only saying to the woman I spoke to yesterday when re-doing my sub that I was glad the Times had stood up on this issue, when so many other papers didn't.

And then they publish this shite Hmm

Apparently in the book he says his Mum says he's not a woman.

And mum is right.

Motnight · 16/03/2025 22:08

The tone of the article struck me as similar to that of paid for content. Most odd.

Anonycat · 16/03/2025 22:11

I’m pleased to say I wrote a scathing comment which received a lot of support, but "Commenting on this article has ended" - presumably they got worried about the virtually 100% opinion that it was insulting drivel.
