Looks very good. Can't commit that time unfortunately

PondFloater · 10/03/2025 11:23

It's very good - so clear that a focus on women's health needs is necessary.

They did define Sex and Gender - sex to refer to biology, chromosomes etc.

But there has been some cissing about to obscure meaning for those for whom English is a second language..

"cissing about"

Cackle. I'll be stealing that.

PondFloater · 10/03/2025 11:44

One speaker clearly doesn't quite get it and at one point said
"C" "I" "S" gender (snigger)

Did you notice (hard to miss!!) the rainbow alphabet poster behind GJ?

Very encouraging to hear that all grant applications must include how they will /include tackle sex and gender in the research.

Did Dr Kate Womersley say this was kickstarted by Caroline Criado Perez's book Invisible Women?

Nooo - boo! I missed it.
Might have been noodling on candy crush (but listening intently!)

I don't think she did, but Carolin CP was one of the speakers. Absolutely excellent!

I think they said at the start it's not being recorded. Which is a shame, if I'm right, as the presentations are very high quality and myth-busting.

Yes I've seen Caroline on another webinar and she was excellent then too.

Yes, shame it's not recorded as I've been dipping in and out (Mumsnet scrolling 🤣) and would've liked to have gone back to a couple of parts

PondFloater · 10/03/2025 12:09

Hurrah - rainbow back on screen

It’s such a shame the first panel wasn’t recorded. Did they say why?

I admit to cackling at the “excuse criteria” bit.
