The actual policy is a link at the bottom.
Shortest version - good news. Although the tip toe language is a bit worrying.
Females who want to play in mens OK.
Males who want to play in women's NO.
Laguage quite wishy washy.

IHUK ANNOUNCES NEW SEX & GENDER PARTICIPATION POLICY - Ice Hockey UK

Ice Hockey UK - in collaboration with England Ice Hockey, Scottish Ice Hockey and the Elite Ice Hockey League - has introduced a new Sex & Gender Participation Policy that will take effect for the 2025/2026 season.

That’s good news. It can be a punishing sport and the potential for injury if males were allowed in the women’s teams would be frightening.

For context I think part of the reason for the language is to continue to allow mixed sex teams to be mixed sex.

The women's teams are now protected as female only and I believe the GB/England pathway teams are split male/female but outside of this I'm not aware of any male only teams/leagues (within the rules - in practice not all mixed teams have women playing on them but that isn't an eligibility/rules issue)

So the result of the policy is that women will have women's only teams to play for but can still choose to play for mixed teams if they want to.

That is a very well researched and written policy.
Other sports should use it as a blueprint.
