USAID - American agency has been funding trans propaganda projects around the globe

USA ID - the US agency for industrial developement has been suspended by the Trump administration and now that there is scrutiny over what it has been spending the money on. It has a 30 billion dollar budget and I'm sure it may do some good sometimes with the money but it seems like it was ideologically captured by trans ideology under the influence of the US large corperations and pharmaceutical companies.

Some of it's recent funding -
$1.5 million grant to Serbian 'Groupa Izadji' 'Group comeout' to promote LGBTQ workplace practices
£30 million to research HIV transmission among transgender individuals inSouth Africa
Transgender 'healthcare initiatives' in Vietnam and India
$25,000 for and Opera in Colombia to promote transgender representation in the arts
$32,000 for a transgender comic book in Peru.

Looking closer to home, it turns out Stonewall recieves funding from them -"National LGBTQ+ charity Stonewall also said the funding pause would affect its work in eastern Europe and the Caucasus'

BBC Media action also receives funding.
'The BBC's international charity BBC Media Action, which is funded by external grants and voluntary contributions, receives funding from USAID. According to a 2024 report, USAID donated $3.23m (£2.6m), making it the charity's second-largest donor that financial year.
It funds a range of projects in 30 countries and 50 languages across the world,
The charity, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary, says its work is 'building stronger democracies', making a 'safer, more habitable planet' and creating 'more inclusive societies' - especially for the disabled and LGBTQI+ people.'

We know how much pro-trans propaganda the BBC pumps out here but it is depressing to think that it is being beamed into 30 other countries with a clear agenda to promote trans ideology.
However laudable the goals of 'spreading Democracy' are, it is a very Imperialist view and I do not want to fund the empowerment of 'transwoman' in say India to start marching into women's bathrooms there or taking over their sports.

All EO can be challenged by Congress.

And as I keep saying they way they are implementing this is totally in breach of employment law.

Little anecdotes about this or that bit of misuse of federal funding is not the point.

Shocking that so few seem to think other people's employment rights matter.

Added to which in delegating the work to a man who is not elected, who has bought in staff from his private company to go through personnel records AND - believe it or not, records of companies Musk is in commercial competition with.

If this wasn't the US people would be pissing themselves laughing at someone who clearly has not idea of the function of Government.

He is meant to be the President of the entire country. Not some dictator trying to put into law things that are his personal opinion. ie not being allowed to criticise christianity.

The most remarkable thing about this is that if someone made this as a film using heavy satire to show that the US has become so dumbed down it accepts someone abusing their position as President to act like a tyrant, and carry out personal vendettas people would say it will never happen.

And to think a lot of this lunacy is being acted out by descendents of all those people who left Europe because they despise autocratic monarchs and not having the right to practice their form of religion.

Is he not just carrying out his election pledges. -which was to review all foreign investments and aid packages - to stop wasting taxpayer money, and to "Put America First"?

I am sure that is what he thinks he is doing but in theory (these things never really work) the US constitution was written so that no one part of the Government had more power than the other.

And just to repeat yet again, no sane person goes into a work place, steals people's personal information, fires them on the spot, let alone cut income streams to dependent groups without due notice.

He may think he is still part of a tv reality show, but in fact this is the real world.

But maybe that is a world you would like to live in where some autocrat can just click their fingers and obedient henchmen just carry out the executions.

You cant tell me you really think this is about efficiency savings.

This is about (before the courts stop him) hitting out at all the people he think dont deserve to be considered.

Maybe a bit off topic, but I found out about this sub stack via a friend's facebook feed.

I dont think the commentator is particularly feminist but is keeping track of developments in the US in a way that is really interesting. And useful as news coverage here is patchy.

This last post deals with issues around the US constitution and Trumps latest proclamation

While trump is extreme he's what's sadly needed after the craziness the past 4 years. He's about action whether you agree or not. Decisions are made and actioned.

I do hope the Dems find a good candidate next time. Not gavin newsome type, they need a doer not a talker. Old school Obama style smooth talking is out.

If that income stream was funding harm then of course it should be cut without notice. Ditto if the income stream could no longer be afforded.

IwantToRetire · 08/02/2025 21:16

What a totally crass and inhumane thing to say. Cant wait for when the Democrats get back in and act with the same craziness and cut all benefit and rights to anyone with GC views. Will you then still be saying, that's great that's action. Is your idea of politics based on Hollywood action films. Millions of innocent people killed so that at the end the hero can stand in the spot lights and get applause.

Although, what is probably more worrying, is that a recent survey of young people thought policitics was boring with all that talking, and why could politicians just do things. Bring back Liz Truss!

IwantToRetire · 08/02/2025 21:25

Honestly what world do commentators on this thread live in.

Are you saying you trust Musk and 4 tech male juveniles to properly assess whether a programme is working well.

Not forgetting these proud incels would just love to cut funding to vulnerable women and leave them with no option but what to do what - sell sex?

And even when a funding stream comes to an end you will be given a period of notice.

I have got to the point now where I am almost hoping that people making these type of reactionary statements find themselves dependent on "handouts" that help them get by and then find within less than a day they have no more income.

And again, call me quaint and old fashioned, but I thought most people believed in workers rights.

I know lets return to the Victorian era, bring back the poor house, and everyone else can work 18 hour days with no right to breaks or whatever let alone anything as new fangled as holidays or sick days.

Although thankfully, just as we have found in standing up for GC rights, it isn't performative politics that win in the end it is the legal system. And even the judges that Trump though to had strategically put in place are telling him he is breaking the law.

I'm thinking a starting a thread about how many contributors on FWR would actually prefer to live in an autocracy rather than live in a country with a notional sense of democracy.

House Democrats to introduce the Taxpayer Data Protection Act in response to Elon Musk’s shameful invasion of Americans’ privacy.

The legislation would stop people with conflicts of interest or without a security clearance from accessing the highly sensitive Treasury Department payment system – which is also responsible for Social Security and Medicare benefits.

“No one elected Elon Musk. But Donald Trump and House Republicans have turned over the keys to the government’s most sensitive information to a billionaire donor with his own self-serving agenda and immense conflicts of interest”

Maybe it's a kind of fear, people think associating themselves with Musk in some way makes them powerful too. They won't be the ones getting hit as Musk dismantles any idea that government is there to protect people, they'll always be the ones who don't need that.

Musk is now getting rid of an agency that protects people from getting ripped off by financial companies. Which of course his crypto-scamming tech boys have no personal interest in..........

DemeraraAbyss · 09/02/2025 10:35

You think they should give notice to fraudulent applicants? Or where it is causing harm?

It looks more like a total re-set than an efficiency drive. But isn't this what people voted for?

I thought all employeees were on temporary paid leave? And about 600 have been kept on?
