An LGBTQ+ champion who worked as a manager in in a women's mental health unit has been struck off for racist comments

In 2016, Sussex Police offered an apology for sending a letter addressing Jaden Rachel Dios Hole as Mr Hole

The NMC Fitness to Practice report is here:

https://www.nmc.org.uk/globalassets/sitedocuments/ftpoutcomes/2024/december-2024/reasons-hole-ftpcsh-83814-20241218.pdf

Apparently some of it was held in private on the basis that Hole’s right to privacy outweighed the interest of a complainant, witness or patient and the public interest in the case - those parts relate to misconduct and impairment.

misscockerspaniel · 14/01/2025 10:30

This is absolutely diabolical. How on earth is this allowed to happen? Is there anything we can do to prompt an inquiry - not that an inquiry is necessarily needed, for what is wrong is laid out on a plate for all to see, if their vision is not impaired by rainbow-coloured glasses. The only thing I can think of doing is to write to Wes Streeting. Any other ideas? Galvanize mental health charities into action?

GrannyAchingsShepherdsHut · 14/01/2025 10:30

This person already had allegations against them in 2015. Assuming Rachel Dios on x with a handle of jhole is the same person (fairly safe I think!) why on earth would they be nominated for an 'unsung hero' award?!

A man can never be celebrated enough, especially if he says the magic words.

ElangaScores · 14/01/2025 08:20

Imagine changing your name and calling yourself Hole. Whatever could be the reason for that?

Yes quite. Out of the millions of possible surnames in the world, this is the one he chose.

TheCatsTongue · 14/01/2025 10:40

Give yourself a protected characteristic, watch authorities cover up your bad behaviour.

IdylicDay · 14/01/2025 10:41

Misogyny and racism usually go hand in hand, so no surprise some transwomen are racist.

Wasn't there a transwoman who was caught on video calling a black woman the 'n' word? I think he was a serial litigant. Will have to look it up.

Rightsraptor · 14/01/2025 10:41

I'm not talking about Hole personally here, as I just don't know if this applies in Hole's case, but I've often had cause to wonder if taking too much of the opposite sex's hormones might send you a bit mad.

Just a thought.

HaveYouActuallyDoneAnyWashingThisWeekMum · 14/01/2025 10:45

Or perhaps you’re mentally unstable in the first place? After all, taking opposite sex hormones and insisting you’re the opposite sex isn’t really the behaviour of a rational person.

Hoardasurass · 14/01/2025 11:01

MrsOvertonsWindow · 14/01/2025 08:36

Maybe #nodebate? Or maybe there was also abuse of women on the ward that the NHS are desperate to keep hidden? Remember the women raped on a hospital ward by a transwoman and NHS staff lied to the woman and the police - told them that it was impossible as there were no men present?
The NHS have previous for concealing offences committed by a certain group.

Edited

I wonder if they're facing a lawsuit from 1 or more of the women on that "womens" ward over his alleged behaviour towards them on the ward (I won't repeat them here as they are only X and other places rumours for now)

TWETMIRF · 14/01/2025 10:35

Of course you're right.

I really don't believe anything about this individual was 'unsung' though. I expect it was all repeatedly brought to everyone's attention whether they were interested or not.

Igmum · 14/01/2025 11:05

BeBraveLittlePenguin · 14/01/2025 08:19

It's odd, because TRA always seem like such nice people.

😂😂😂

Nailed it.

But WTF was this disturbed man doing running a women's mental health unit? FFS

HaveYouActuallyDoneAnyWashingThisWeekMum · 14/01/2025 11:08

It’s a very chilling thought, @Igmum

GC5 · 14/01/2025 11:12

Why was a male allowed to be in charge of a woman’s psychiatric ward? I would have assumed it is a role in which sex matters.

HaveYouActuallyDoneAnyWashingThisWeekMum · 14/01/2025 11:16

Because the NHS is falling over itself to affirm, support, indulge people who say they’re the opposite sex. You can’t move for all the rainbow lanyards, posters, shoelaces, badges etc. A visitor from a more sensible country might think they’d entered a pre-school not a hospital or GP surgery.

haterobotcrap · 14/01/2025 11:17

Hairyesterdaygonetoday · 14/01/2025 10:20

Yes. Who thought it was a good idea to put a man who is clearly living out a fantasy and who posts, er, unusual photos of himself online, in charge of mentally vulnerable women? Many of those women may have been sexually abused, as this often damages the victim’s mental health.

But the important thing is to validate his feelings and to show the modern NHS does not discriminate against unsuitable candidates or prioritise the patients.

Edited

What ever happened to safer recruitment? I thought it's safeguarding 101 that you wouldn't employ someone with these sorts of images online to work with vulnerable patients / women / children.

He's using the vulnerable women he works with as unconsenting props in his fetish and he's not even being particularly discreet about doing this - the online photos and the name.

I hope they investigate more fully, but they probably won't.

TWETMIRF · 14/01/2025 11:20

There is no diversity in diversity, it's all about men who get off on pretending to be women. People in top positions can carry on employing men and crack one off for being so great at diversity hires and initiatives. Least effort, maximum result for men

TheCatsTongue · 14/01/2025 11:22

He's with vulnerable women, [sarc] because no one is more vulnerable than a trans woman. [/sarc]

Absolutely agree

Management will be patting themselves on the back for being so forward thinking, angry racist man gets off pretending to be a woman and the most vulnerable women in our services have to put up with decisions made not to support them but to support men no matter what their character is like

this is the NHS for you

MrsOvertonsWindow · 14/01/2025 12:10

Cailleach1 · 14/01/2025 10:04

Was a case ever taken against their lying to the police, I wonder? Surely giving false information would be obstruction of justice or aiding in the cover up of a crime or something.

I don't know. I know it was taken up by Baroness Nicholson. You'd have hoped that staff openly lying to the police about a rape would have been both disciplined and prosecuted as you suggest. But.... the demands of the sacred caste to access women when vulnerable always seem to take precedence over the rights of girls and women. And as usual, the police's commitment to prosecuting rapists seems to fall by the wayside compared with their speed in tackling hurty words online.

Why would a homelessness charity working with vulnerable people employ someone sacked for racism? They must have known!

It's also worth remembering that some staff in NHS trusts are so excited by male born trans sex offenders that they actually wrote policies working out how they could wedge them onto women's wards:

https://www.thetimes.com/uk/healthcare/article/trans-sex-offenders-can-go-on-womens-wards-hospitals-advise-0fmbhm3bn

https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/womensrights/4313090-Telegraph-Patient-safety-fears-as-NHS-allows-trans-sex-offenders-in-female-only-wards

Let that sink in. The NHS employs adults who reckon that male born sex offenders should be on wards next to ill women who may not be able to move or speak out to protect themselves. That's how little some senior staff in the NHS value women's safety. And none of their peers or staff in NHS England speak out to stop this.

Hard not to see it as rotten to the core at times.

Sorry - that's a bit of a derail - but it does go some way to show how the culture of the NHS enables some dangerous men to be where they shouldn't be.

Dios was a Sexual Safety Collaborative Project Lead whilst working for NHS Sussex on a low security women’s mental health ward. The kind of place where women have had traumatic sexual experiences.

And it seems Hole was throwing around Nazi comments at colleagues too.

https://www.theargus.co.uk/news/24836245.sussex-nurse-sacked-series-racist-incidents/

Hole is now a mental health practitioner for a homeless charity.

He's what?!

So he's working with vulnerable people? This is outrageous.

I will say it again. It is always fucking Brighton.

I realise it is a truism - but this reminds me of the doctor? in the original Stepford Wives, telling the Katharine Ross character that different communities attract different types of people for different reasons, some more obvious than others, as in tribal culture.
Not all people recognise this about their own town, however.

Hebden Bridge
St Ives
Blackpool
Chichester
Newmarket
Margate

Brighton is extreme though isn‘t it, a microcosm, yet a few miles either way, respectable, sedate towns and villages, away from the petrie dish of Brighton.
