God that's so depressing.

This is awful, such disgraceful lenience from the court.

These high-profile men should receive even harsher punishments for their crimes than other men, to set an example for the men who look up to them and so everyone can see that justice is done.

So the implication is that if Hogg had been a mere factory-worker, or, worse, on the dole, he'd have seen prison time? As the piece makes clear, you're dealing with (another) sacred caste here: pro sportsmen.
