Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

Excellent piece. Comments also worth a read. I remember PIE trying to infiltrate liberarían movements and the parallels are very clear. Once men get into positions of power of course they will use it to their own advantage.

Hoardasurass · 09/01/2025 08:26

It's a good article but I wish she had mentioned how many labour politicians were involved with pie and that some of them including Harriet harrmon are still in government (though now in the lords) it would help people to understand quite how we ended up in this mess

RoyalCorgi · 09/01/2025 08:32

The parallel is correct - we all know that. She shies away from the obvious conclusion, which many of us reached a long time ago, that the so-called trans rights movement has more in common with PIE than simply the tactic of attaching itself to gay rights.

Ramblingnamechanger · 09/01/2025 08:49

But there are quite a few articles around that link the politicians through NCLL.

WindmillOfWimbledon · 09/01/2025 09:03

A good piece, but I think she's wrong about Stonewall latching onto trans rights in 2004. I think it was 2015. Up to then, they were very much a gay rights organisation, campaigning for equal marriage and repeal of S28.

Excellent article.

Excellent article and saying the previously unsayable.

Good to see this being said in the MSM. The sheer volume of male sex offenders claiming to be women (according the the MoJ stats which are an under count of the real numbers) is a warning.
I recently read on here the point that those insisting on mixed sex spaces where women are undressed are attempting to decriminalise indecent exposure and voyeurism against girls and women.
Long overdue for society to start joining up these dots.

Excellent article by Sarah Ditum on "parasitic paedophiles." Thanks for the Times share token, OP.

Very glad to see this being spelled out.

heathspeedwell · 09/01/2025 10:25

Absolutely brilliant article. This bit stood out for me:

"The end result of trans activism has been a year-on-year increase in the number of people who support single-sex services and oppose child transition. When your cause is fundamentally unappealing, public awareness is the last thing you need."

PerkingFaintly · 09/01/2025 10:40

On @RoyalCorgi 's point.

Ditum doesn't need to make a claim like that. Once the lid is off, people can make case-by-case judgements themselves.

And she is wise not to. Transitioning autistic teenager girls would be offered as proof the claim is untrue. As ever, malefactors would use the genuinely vulnerable as their shields and attempt to hide among them. So a claim like that would be jumped on to ignore and discredit the rest of the article.

I think it's very well written. Also, highlighting the technique enables us to see when it is used by other groups as well.

Hence the earlier campaigning tactics of doing as much as possible by lobbying powerful people behind closed doors with minimal publicity. #NoDebate on social media. Getting IPSO to insist the media refers to convicted rapists as she if they have a trans identity. Etc etc.

Thanks for the share token! Good article.

I was so struck by the similarity in tactics after listening to the In Dark Places podcast. And I’m old enough to remember the initial emergence of PIE.
Even to those of us who considered ourselves liberal and progressive in the 70s, this was a sick-making step too far, and what initially made me lose faith in the NCCL and sceptical of the good faith of similar organisations.
