Trans laird sues NHS for refusing to carry out third sex change surgery

https://www.yahoo.com/news/trans-laird-sues-nhs-refusing-140305875.html

So this person was born male, had surgery to ‘become female’, then back to male and is during the NHS for refusing to then give them more surgery back to female.

In the legal claim, the 64-year-old said the refusal to provide treatment relating to the third gender reassignment amounted to negligence, discrimination and a breach of human rights.

JFC so not using NHS resources to allow someone to transition when the wind blows is against human rights - what a time to be alive

After "becoming a woman "he loathed it because " female conversation is dull and shopping is boring."

It never ceases to amaze me how much people can hate us while wanting to be us.

I think for some woman-hating men the anger and hate is because they can’t be us - there’s something that even entitled, sexist, selfish men can’t ever have, and that’s being us. They can’t take over the domain of femaleness, however they may try to dominate, control or rape. Gender ideology gives them another patriarchy-fuelled route to try, and says everyone must agree they are women. But as this one found, they know they’re not and still feel excluded, hence the sexist sniping, or (from some other TW) Reddit posts filled with murderous rage.

WhatterySquash · 19/12/2024 08:36

Is he modelling himself on Patsy from Ab Fab?!

That would be especially sad to aim so unreachably high.

LadyQuackBeth · 19/12/2024 08:50

This is an important case to win, however.

It's bad enough that the NHS is emotionally blackmailed into giving out treatments with no medical basis/which are harmful on the premise that "I might kill myself if I don't get what I want." But to move that to "you know I'll go to some crap surgeon abroad if you don't give me what I want, which will be your fault," would leave the NHS open to being blackmailed into any old dangerous crap.

This person is so clearly unwell and their groin must be in a total state of scarred tissue that no surgeon in their right mind would have done it.

Iamnotalemming · 19/12/2024 10:03

The sense of entitlement is staggering.

Agree with PP that this is an important case for the NHS to win though, for the precedent and the principle. I hope they have good lawyers who have an eye on the broader picture.

HootyMcBoobs · 19/12/2024 13:01

Cosplaying as a woman, and now cosplaying as a Scottish lady complete with tartan skirt and wooden crook in any photo you see of them in their Scottish mansion.

Very mentally unwell.

And exactly why surgery does not fix mental health issues.

TempestTost · 19/12/2024 17:26

My suspicion is the surgery is the point more than the transition.

Quite, You could make that argument about FGM.

After "becoming a woman "he loathed it because " female conversation is dull and shopping is boring."

He detransitioned over 20 years ago, taking his psychiatrist to the GMC for negligence and winning. He had a phalloplasty but loathed being a man again.
"I wanted to wear a blouse or a pretty ring, and wear my hair long." It was time to change legal sex all over again.

But gender ideology is nothing to do with social stereotypes so they tell us

Edited

I hope the psychiatrist has been exonerated in light of what has happened since.

FeegleFrenzy · 20/12/2024 13:04

The nhs shouldn’t be wasting money on this for the first time never mind three times. This person needs a psych referral not more surgery.

FFS

My opinion is that these surgeries should not be carried out on the NHS at all for anyone.

Edited

Totally agree

This.
Stop throwing money at surgery and put more money into mental health issues for everyone

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 20/12/2024 13:42

I’m still confused. Is the laird now a woman being mistaken for a man, or a man mistaken for being a woman?

What precisely is this particular ‘ glassy essence’ which is supposed to be the defining factor in how the world recognises this person.

(Most ignorant of what he's most assur'd— His glassy essence )

eqpi4t2hbsnktd · 20/12/2024 14:05

If he gets a fanny - I want a boob lift. I identify as someone with perky tits.

They were born male
Had surgery to transition to female
Hated being female because the conversation is rubbish and shopping is boring
Sued his psychotherapist for letting him transition
Had more surgery to transition back to male - so a fake penis to replace the one he’d had chopped off
Hated being male because he wanted long hair and to wear pretty things
NHS refused any more surgery.
Went abroad to transition back to female
Surgery left him with a lot of trouble ‘down there’
Now suing the NHS for ‘forcing’ him to have the botched final surgery.
Is currently female but who knows by next week?

Simple eh?

This man is so obviously unwell. Why can't the NHS divert the huge expense of surgery into the therapy he needs so desperately?

Yup.

Totally.

The man, woman, man, woman Laird is never going to love himself regardless of how much surgery he has. Sounds ds like the poor mixed up kids in school. Acceptance rather than counselling for mental health issues is a massive problem.

Ironically, it seems to be an inherent part of the whole psychopathology of being trans that it is unacceptable to countenance the possibility of gender dysphoria having a psychological root rather than a manifestation of "being trapped in the wrong body", and furthermore that anyone who suggests mental ill-health as being the cause is transphobic, proved by the very fact they are questioning this skewed way of thinking (rather than perhaps trying to help).

If part of this mental illness is an inability to recognise that it is, in fact, a mental illness (as is the case with various other psychological conditions) - well, it becomes rather difficult to unpick.

Maybe he’s really a unicorn.

With a mythical horn Grin

Female conversation is boring
Prize knob

I can well imagine that all women who speak to him are deliberately very boring with their conversation so as not to say the wrong thing

Sinkintotheswamp · 22/12/2024 15:31

"wear a blouse or a pretty ring".
Prince managed that, and in heels, 40yrs ago and was very much a man.

lcakethereforeIam · 22/12/2024 15:51

It can sometimes be difficult to have an interesting conversation with someone with whom you have nothing in common.

ApocalipstickNow · 22/12/2024 16:02

Or that you’re not interested in listening to.
