Much respect to you Glinner, thank you for the laughs, may there be many more, and thank you for standing up against tyranny. Together we can all kick Bishop Brennan up the arse.

devildeepbluesea · 15/12/2024 05:02

What an extraordinary man you are @Glinner

A brilliant man who put everything on the line for the other sex. I’m not sure we will ever understand what it cost him.

I will be forever grateful. Wishing you every deserved success in Arizona.

Pat888 · 15/12/2024 05:11

I noticed recently that Graham was a writer on the first series of Motherland -no wonder it was so funny!

TidyDancer · 15/12/2024 05:23

Best of luck with it all @Glinner - we all respect you so much and I'm so pleased you have the opportunity to do this! You're an incredible man and we all owe you a debt of gratitude!

No way - I loved that too. So all of that cast/team left him to fight alone then as well as Dawn French and co.
Utter shame on them.
Imagine how different the world would be if more men (and women!!) were like him - proper brave and noble man defending women's and kids' rights.
I'll preorder some musical tickets too - happy travels, enjoy the creative freedom and stay safe in Arizona!

IdylicDay · 15/12/2024 05:50

Goodness, he is really only known online anyway, so does it matter where he lives? I don't get it, I mean, why people are saying 'goodbye' to an internet personality. Like as if where he lives has any relevance to his online activism (which I applaud).

Abhannmor · 15/12/2024 07:57

Well there's the time difference. When my son lived in Nevada it was a nightmare. Sending best wishes anyway. A change is as good as a rest they say.

CeratopsofthePharoahs · 15/12/2024 08:44

Sad to see you go!

Watched Father Ted with my son last year it's still just as funny! Had the musical actually been staged I'd drag my lazy arse out to see it.

Perhaps we could start a petition.....

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 15/12/2024 09:07

@Glinner
Very best of luck. A richly deserved opportunity. Remember the best revenge is a life well lived. Now you can show the spineless ones that you can fight for your beliefs and still write brilliant comedy.

I think the sadness is because he, shamefully, wasn't able to continue his career here. I would guess for him, it matters very much where he lives.

I think we're sad that he has had to move away from the UK to work because his previous comedy pals have abandoned him. But yes, it is good news he's working on a new project and will still be writing online.

Igmum · 15/12/2024 13:24

Thank you and love you @Glinner and looking forward to watching the new project

BelgianBeers · 15/12/2024 13:28

Looking forward to your new ventures. Enjoy them and take care.

BoreOfWhabylon · 15/12/2024 15:03

I think the writing partnership between @Glinner and Andrew Doyle will be a terrific one
Perhaps a series wherein Titania McGrath moves to Craggy Island?Xmas Grin

Kingsleadhat · 15/12/2024 15:08

I'm delighted that he's going to be writing again. It was an absolute crime that someone with his genius -level comedy talent wasn't using it. Can't wait to see what he comes up with

elgreco · 15/12/2024 15:17

Good luck Glinner

Ah go on, I may have to indulge in some Father Ted over the Christmas period. I wish we could have the bloody musical.

All the best glinner, come back soon please.

It's terrible that the Father Ted musical is not being allowed to be brought to the west end, by all accounts it would have been one of the biggest hits of the last 20 years.

A crying shame for theatre and culture that this project was banjaxed and will never see the light of day.

Agreed, it really dropped in quality after he was kicked out before the second and third seasons, much of which was unwatchable.

A great opportunity ruined by woke.

fabricstash · 15/12/2024 22:51

Can't wait to see what emerges! Good luck glinner

highame · 16/12/2024 07:09

My poor broken heart. Doyle departs, Sunday nights now destroyed. Sorry Josh, you're a nice bloke but.........

BeccaS34 · 16/12/2024 07:16

I’m glad he’s got work lined up but Arizona isn’t exactly a production hotspot. I hope this is a project worth being involved in. Schneider has been more or less cancelled. I don’t think this is a network tv project like the American IT Crowd pilot project.

I think it’s terribly sad what has happened to his career but I’m not sure how real this opportunity is or if it’s worthy of his talent. I hope something actually comes of this.

Roystonv · 16/12/2024 07:34

So looking forward to the FT showing this week where they have to escape from the lingerie department.

I've no doubt with quality talent such as Graham and Andrew involved whatever they produce will prove to be a very sizeable hit on both sides of the pond.

This is really unlikely - it’s not even being reported in trades like the Hollywood Reporter or Deadline, which report just about everything a publicist calls to tell them.

I wish them luck but I don’t think this is an opportunity he would have taken seriously a year or two ago. I just feel sad for him at this point.
