I'm full of admiration for Allison and all the women who commit so much of their lives, their time, and no doubt their emotional wellbeing to pursue long cases like this one.
In campaigning, there are outstanding single acts of resistance and courage which catch the eye; and then there are these demanding, punishing marathons which I wouldn't even know about were it not for posts on FWR - thank you Flughafenkoenigin for this one.

Brava Allison, good luck with the rest of the marathon!

SinnerBoy · 11/12/2024 13:59

Yes, good luck, Alison. I hope my optimism isn't misplaced, but some related cases have done rather better on appeal, haven't they.

CriticalCondition · 11/12/2024 14:07

Great news! Good luck, Allison. Your tenacity and bravery in this is an inspiration.

GCITC · 11/12/2024 14:08

Does this mean we get to see more of Ben Cooper?

WhoPutTheBomp · 11/12/2024 14:09

''Rt Hon Lord Justice Singh found that the grounds of appeal lodged on Ms Bailey’s behalf:
“have a real prospect of success but, in any event, raise issues of some general importance which should be considered by this Court. In particular, an issue arises as to the correct interpretation of section 111 of the Equality Act 2010 which does not seem to be the subject of previous authority. There is therefore a compelling reason to grant permission to appeal.”
Permission is not readily granted by the Court of Appeal, and is only granted where there is a real prospect of success, or there is some other compelling reason for the case to be heard. Ms Bailey’s appeal has therefore succeeded under both headings.''

Excellent news.

KohlaParasaurus · 11/12/2024 14:09

Wishing you more success, Allison. Thank you for your perseverance.

Why yes indeed we will [flutters eyelashes and feels all unnecessary]

Does this mean we get to see more of Ben Cooper?

It does say "Doyle Clayton continues to instruct Ben Cooper KC, who has represented Ms Bailey since her original Tribunal claim, as Ms Bailey’s barrister." so hopefully yes!

Alalalala · 11/12/2024 14:12

Excellent news.

themostspecialelfintheworkshop · 11/12/2024 14:25

Well done Allison, a true shero. Huge admiration for her bravery, tenacity and resilience, in short for doing what is right not what is easy.

Supporterofwomensrights · 11/12/2024 14:30

That's great news. I'm in awe of Allison's bravery.

heathspeedwell · 11/12/2024 16:23

Wonderful news. Thank you for your bravery Allison!

Does she need more gardening for this? If so, someone give me a hint? I searched for her name and CJ and came up empty. (Donated to the original, but wasn't systematically saving links to the pages then...)
EDIT: looks like not? I found the original crowdfunding page at her own site, but it's closed, and the last few updates don't mention needing more.

There was a previous thread on this, and there was a screenshot of where Allison said she doesn’t need donations.

general importance which should be considered by this Court. In particular, an issue arises as to the correct interpretation of section 111 of the Equality Act 2010

The phoenix Equality Party that is hoping to rise from the smouldering self-inflicted ruin of WEP should think about the outcome of this and what it might mean for them…

CarefulN0w · 11/12/2024 21:49

Just found the email - so pleased. It feels like another step forward on the path to sanity, Thanks to Allison's bravery.

Each small step and each piece of publicity helps.

lcakethereforeIam · 16/04/2025 14:40

Poor Allison, I hope she doesn't stretch herself too thin

Fuckers

MassiveWordSalad · 16/04/2025 16:53

What the fuck! Reading between the lines, I would guess a TRA works at the vet practice and made complaints based on hearing about her GC views? Good luck to Allison in both cases. Hopefully today’s ruling will help.

RubyTrees · 16/04/2025 17:05

These are vets who don’t understand biological facts? How embarrassing for them.

Supporterofwomensrights · 18/04/2025 00:15

Does anybody know of a way we can garden for her?
