Haven't absorbed all this, but it seems likely to be of interest:

I've only had a quick scan through, but it doesn't look like they are going to include a 'no gender identity' answer as an option to the 'Is the gender you identify with the same as your sex registered at birth?'. It does say that answering this question is voluntary, so I suppose one option is that they count the number of people NOT answering this question as 'I don't believe this gender bs no gender identity'

From their guidance notes:

Measuring gender identity is an evolving topic. On 5 September 2024, Emma Rourke, Deputy National Statistician, wrote to Ed Humpherson, Head of the Office for Statistics Regulation (OSR), to request that the gender identity estimates from Census 2021 are no longer accredited official statistics and are classified as official statistics in development. The change in designation was confirmed by OSR on 12 September 2024. The ONS requested this change in designation after patterns were identified in the Census data that suggested that some respondents may not have interpreted the Census 2021 gender identity question as intended, notably those with lower levels of English language proficiency.

Well, yes nonsense in = nonsense out.

What a total and utter waste of time and resources.

😁They looked utter fools after the last census - having to be dragged in front of the courts to force them to ask a simple question about sex and then producing another incoherent question that couldn't be answered - especially by people with English as a second language. They refused to acknowledge the incoherent data until Prof Michael Biggs painstakingly evidenced the nonsense they produced.

They're the poster boys for a once respected organisation that's rendered themselves foolish and intellectually redundant by being captured by trans ideology, pushing an ideology rather than doing their job. Utterly incompetent, incoherent and incapable of admitting that they screwed up for no good reason. Frightening to think that these are allegedly the country's leading statisticians.

Gender Identity in the 2021 Census of England and Wales: What Went Wrong? - Sex Matters

By Michael Biggs. The 2021 Census of England and Wales was the first in the world to elicit information on gender identity from an entire population. This paper argues that its results are implausible on the dimensions of geography, education, ethnicit...
