Feminist Christmas Presents

I am being pestered for my wishlist, and decided to ask for donations to a charity that's helping women.

My relatives are all be kind people so I have to keep the terfiness under the radar whilst steering them so my gift doesn't go to Amnesty and the like.

Suggestions? Or of other presents (for me or anyone else) that further the cause?

(I'm a bit tempted to make all their presents dinosaur-themed and in suffragette colours, just for my own amusement. I gave books about feminism last year, which they no doubt thought was typically humourless and strident of me 😋)

Sex Matters, Fair Play for Women or Beira's Place comes to mind, but too blatant? 😂

They'll see straight through that! We've had some painful conversations about hospital wards and the Olympics.

Donate to WRN in support of their campaign to raise awareness/ apply political pressure to help women in Afghanistan?

I think this is the answer (though still open to further suggestions).

I think a domestic violence refuge that understands biological sex would be good, such as nia (https://niaendingviolence.org.uk/). Women's Aid is another possibility.

I wouldn't suggest Beira's Place because it's not a charity, and I think it's entirely funded by JKR.

nia runs services for women and girls who have been subjected to sexual and domestic violence and abuse, including prostitution. We offer community based

A FGM charity that centres women and girls and not gender identity language.

I'd second @DrSpartacular, Horton has been my Xmas charity on several occasions and very quietly has kept open its wonderful facility for low income women and their families for more than four decades. An inspirational survival from a time when we founded scores of organisations like it, the vast majority of which have been destroyed by institutional misogyny...

(P.S. The scarves are fab, too, if a bit pricey!)

Ask anyway? The TWAW movement only exists because enough people (the majority) don't speak up.

Just bought the scarf for my daughter thank you

I donate to the Linda Norgrove Foundation and have a subscription to the Afgan Times, as I've been assured by people I trust that these are organisations doing good things for women in Afghanistan.

I also donate to the Abortion Support Network which is an umbrella organisation helping women in Europe access abortion across borders. I think it was set up when new restrictions were brought in in Poland.

(Thanks to @DrSpartacular for the reminder - just went and donated to Horton Women's Holiday Centre!)
