Which is why it's important that sex is accurately recorded and used throughout the health system, even if 'gender' is an optional extra too.

As has often been said, the NHS no more needs to know your gender than it does your star-sign.

I didn't vote for him - anybody remember all the vote-scolding before the GE, when all the "I'm as GC as they come but..." crew were telling us how women owed their vote to The Good Guys, spoiling your vote was simultenousely an act of despicable cruelty towards the poor tired counters and also a complete waste of time, etc etc? Yep, I spoiled my ballot with "Respect My Sex If You Want My X" and "No self respecting woman should wish or work for the success of a party that ignores her sex."

Whilst I'm sure the crew were correct that my ballot paper was flung, completely unobserved, upon the scrap heap of crazy-people-votes as a last desperate act by the exhausted counter before they slumped lifeless to the floor, at least a tiny part of me hopes that maybe the smug ignorant bollock gantry might have had to take note that not everybody in his constituency is as high on the collective Righteous farts of TRSOH.

I voted Tory, it was a weird experience watching my hand write the 'x' like it had been possessed. It was made easier by knowing my marginal was going to flip LD no matter who I voted for. I'd received a nice, very GC letter from the then Tory incumbent which helped. I don't know what I'd have done if my vote had really mattered. Also encouraged my kids to vote Green to waste their votes save the Green candidates deposit, I don't know if they did.

If a trans man's gender dysphoria is mild enough that they can cope with going through pregnancy and childbirth, they can cope with being referred to as a woman.
