Sex education programme blamed for rise in number of trans children

I think this is probably the case. I am a teacher and the ideology has infested schools, although mine has been a lot more sensible than many. We currently have one "trans" person who is virtually non verbal, autistic and has changed name / pronouns but nothing else - no visible signs, just a seat on the bandwagon.

I was at a debating competition (for 12-14 year old children) at Edinburgh University and there were a lot of instructions at the start about pronouns, which are now optional but which, of course, with kids eager to compete and be kind, were shared before each debate.

We need some sort of commission to root out all the terrible lessons, posters, attitudes.

Thanks OP.
Who'd have thought that allowing schools to persuade children that they could be born in the wrong body but a sex change is a miracle cure for their pubertal angst would lead to children believing what they're told? 😑

MissScarletInTheBallroom · 18/11/2024 19:35

Does anyone know of any data about the number of trans identifying children in Scotland compared to England?

MelodyMalone · 18/11/2024 19:37

There certainly seemed to be plenty in DD's school, at least according to her.

Cismyfatarse · 18/11/2024 19:39

@MissScarletInTheBallroom I am not sure they are recorded in any meaningful way, nor that Scot Gov collects data, even if schools do track this.

I would imagine the only data might be around waiting list sizes.

I think the insanity was cross border, perhaps with different organisations at the helm. But Scotland really went full tilt.

Well yes, it’s a social contagion. If the number of young women identifying as trans was a reflection of the true incidence of it and the numbers have gone up astronomically because of better awareness and understanding, society would be awash with middle aged women like myself also finding their true authentic selves and being trans and that isn’t happening.
