One of the reasons that the federal Liberal govt may lose the election.
The conservative leader is worrying but Trudeau has lost the plot going all out progressive on certain policies. He’s done that thing where they pat themselves for being ‘progressive’ with the easy issues re trans rights, legalising weed and assisted dying but are failing on welfare, the economy and on environmental policies. However, being liberal on the former issues is very likely to contribute to being voted out next year.
It is incredibly frustrating that so many ‘liberal’ governments have lost the confidence and support of the electorate with unnecessary and strident stances on the low hanging fruit and painting unimpressed citizens as bigots. Gordon Brown did it to that older female voter to his detriment. Shows an appalling lack of political judgement in wilfully dismissing and demeaning such views.
Forces us all back to dangerous times of enabling ideologues and fascist populists to be voted into office.
