BBC Doctors gone full on insane. Very funny though.

I know we've discussed BBC Doctors before, remember the furry episode everyone? Well it gets canned at Christmas and they've gone full on toto in the run up to cancellation.

rip4nutmeg on twitter has been following the trials and tribulations of Graham, the unreconstructed new 'bigot' doctor, and Luca the incredibly right on LGBTQ+ member of staff.

It should be enraging but it's actually so badly written, so badly conceived, that it's hilarious. Everything that's wrong with drama at the moment.

I'm starting to wonder if they've got an undercover terf on the writing team.
Anyway if you want a laugh watch the clips in the thread, you will struggle to think it's not satire. At this rate they'll have the cricket children on before Christmas.

Things can be so bad that they are good. This is so bad that Satan would draw the line at making people watch it

ahemfem · 16/10/2024 17:15

Why does the nurse get her to go off with someone she doesn't even know the name of?

TWETMIRF · 16/10/2024 17:17

So he can crack one off later for being so amazing at helping someone less fortunate than himself. Whether it actually helps or not doesn't matter as long as he can tell people how he did a good thing

The recent Doctors thread, for further boggling at the terrible sermonising

😂😂😂 well edgy

Abhannmor · 17/10/2024 11:25

Oh dear. That clip is horrendous. Like something cooked up by those naughty boys at Viz Comic. Might have to go to A &E myself if the cringe related injuries persist.

Grammarnut · 17/10/2024 11:26

Oh! Oh! I know this one, miss! It's the one where we get a lecture on how you can change your sex and how brave people are actually to show up at a doctor's surgery and reveal: they are the opposite sex. Also that rape victims know the difference between a man
I watched an episode (accidentally, I was doing something else and left the TV on) where Graham meets his DD who is now saying she is a man. Her mother is full-on TWAW but Graham produces all the arguments as to why TWAW and how dangerous the procedures for 'changing' sex are! Goes off with some rainbow leaflets. I really thought well, whoever wrote that knows the arguments.
I think they have a terf in there and they don't know it.

Abhannmor · 17/10/2024 11:32

And the 'acting'! Imagine having this on your resume. There again Crossroads went on for ages. This might become a student cult / guilty pleasure perhaps....

SirChenjins · 17/10/2024 11:42

I just watched the clip above - what on earth is this programme? And why is a man wearing a dress as his nurse's uniform and not the usual unisex trousers and top that nurses wear? I kept expecting to see French and Saunders - it was most bizarre.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 17/10/2024 12:01

I think he's making a pointed statement about "transphobia".

Interesting. Is that a recent one? I agree no real TRA would want GC arguments aired even to criticise them!

Grammarnut · 17/10/2024 12:36

It was on last week. I was interrupted in my post - nephew made flying visit - and meant to say 'rape victims know the difference between a man and a woman' and also that Graham produced all the reasons why TWAW is nonsense - glad what I meant got through. Thanks for the thanks!
I did think the episode explained so clearly the dangers of trans ideology I thought we'd have a change of mind by the DD. Graham is a breath of fresh air in an otherwise totally captured programme.

wwjalme · 17/10/2024 12:55

That's absolutely terrible. How is something like that even on TV?
It's worse than the skit we did for the school leavers assembly and that's saying something. Where did they find the guy with the guitar? Bloody hell. Don't give up the day job mate.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 17/10/2024 13:09

I'll see if I can watch that episode later @Grammarnut - interested to see it.

You’re so right; it’s bad pantomime levels of writing (and acting).

Yes last week.

YellowAsteroid · 17/10/2024 13:49

Just watched a bit of that Twitter clip - so the man wearing a tunic but no trousers is a woman??

Bonkers.

No it's a man wearing a nurse's uniform.

SwissBall · 17/10/2024 13:52

It’s making me think of Legz Akimbo in the League of Gentlemen, it seems to be that level of subtlety.

SensibleSigma · 17/10/2024 13:55

I used to like Doctors, in a something to eat while having lunch kind of way. Very soapy, hammy, but I liked it.

Is he showing solidarity with transwomen, or is he trans? It was beyond ridiculous. Especially when he seats himself in full manspread mode.

YellowAsteroid · 17/10/2024 13:59

I once did a tour of where they make the programme, and saw inside Christopher Timothy's dressing room! (a looooong time ago)
