Getting concerned about The Observer disappearing as we know it

The future of The Observer is still in doubt! I'm worried that GC writers like Sonia Sodha, Rachel Cooke and Catherine Bennett are going to be going to go behind a paywall on a small start up podcast site.

The Observer, and these women journalists would be a huge loss to The Guardian website. The Observer is the only paper that prints stories from both the GC and TRA point of view.

This was in the i newspaper yesterday:-

Complain to The Guardian Readers' Editor

[email protected] if you're concerned too!

Readers concerns about the sale of the Observer aren't really in the Readers' editor's remit. I do have loads of concerns about this sale beyond (and an addition to) what you mention though. Interesting that Hutton, Alton and Mulholland all signed a joint letter raising concerns.

Problem is, it's a paper at risk either way. It's not protected by the Scott Trust and will be sacrificed to protect The Guardian. It has to be.

It will be a real loss. It's so much better than the Guardian.
