This is very interesting from Ganesh.

Granted he isn't quite brave enough to call out the Trans topic by name (he has alluded to it before however), but it's clearly what he's referencing when he talks about single issue feminist holding the line.

There's another thread on this (not the first time I've wished I knew how to link stuff on here) and yes it's a great article

In case anyone wants to read it before commenting the full articleand cant acess the article because of paywall at https://www.ft.com/content/b82bb503-21bb-4d64-8f72-6c6801f3b196

It can be read at Can liberals be trusted with liberalism? (archive.ph)

Having read it, although it is great that feminists are credited with holding the line, the idea that "woke" is fading just isn't true.

With the current government every thing that GC feminism has made some impact on could be lost once Labour gets to amend the EA and the GRA.

Sadly.

It's a good piece, and I agree with his wider point, which is that a certain kind of liberal is fond of saying "you shouldn't say that because it's unkind/misguided/punching down" rather than saying "you shouldn't say that because it's wrong, and this is why it's wrong."

There is an irony, I think, in the fact that he's essentially saying liberals haven't been very brave in standing up for what's right, and have let others do the hard work, but lacks the courage to specify what he's talking about.

Yep there is an irony there.

The only think I'd say is that the FT is very 'gendery' (someone transed a kid presumably) so I'm taking what I can get.

Ganesh has made veiled comments on the trans issue before. He's clearly GC, but still not quite 'out'.
