I include the link from a poster in Reddit, because the reply from the MP is quite, quite wonderful - but also the replies shed a direct light upon the logically inconsistent and unsupported position these people inhabit

As she is one of the MPs who has backed one of the two Labour candidates for chair of the Women and Equalities Committee who both believe TWAW and No LGB without the T, I wouldn't take her by the Wes Streetling rule book reply to be an indication of anything more than that.

The implication being that as a rule following Labour MP she feels okayed to back someone to be the Chair of the W&EC who is publicly biased against women's sex based rights.

A strange type of equality.

I would like to know exactly what is meant by 'reform to the gender recognition act'?

I would also like to know why she is so certain that a puberty blocker study will go ahead 'from next year'. Does she think that ethical approval will be given? The team is in place and ready to go from what she says.

She also seems to have decided that the trial will find PBs work and will therefore enable the lifting of the ban

Has Meg Hillier got any interest in the significant hostilities which women face just by living their day to day lives?

Is she going to put an end to the Male Sexual Entitlement activists’ culture war against women who want the privacy and dignity of single sex female only spaces when in a state of undress?

I found her response beyond irritating.

I suspect it is the approved Labour Party response.

We many never know what she actually thinks.

Labour is now totally imersed in being seen to run a tight ship, apparently now threatening even those who abstain on the vote tomorrow re pensions that they could lose the whip.

look at the lies they peddle:

Like other posters, I don't see anything in the OP to suggest that Hillier's reaction is 'wonderful'. Unless the OP was being sarcastic. Looks like a boilerplate Labour Party response to me.

Well, that Labour are holding the line feels like front page news to me?
