Encouraged to use pronouns in email signature

So there have been a few conversations and emails lately from colleagues letting us know how to add our pronouns to our email signature. It's all mentioned in the context of inclusion and diversity. I personally don't want to, my personal reasons, but I feel that I may be in a minority or frowned upon if I don't. What are your thoughts/experience on this?

They're a bit late to the party! We were 'encouraged' about three years ago. I told my line manager I didn't want to add them as I didn't care whether people I hadn't met thought I was a woman or a man. That having a name you can't tell from, I'd often had people assume incorrectly and I was fine with that. As soon as we met they knew I was a woman. Nothing was said and more staff didn't add them than did. Interestingly no one has them anymore.

@WhatAMessWales that's great, well done

And yes it's an excellent email if people pick it up then that's really useful

An excellent email @WhatAMessWales - thank you - I have saved it in case I ever get asked/told to put pronouns in my email signature.

I never have, intend to never do it either.
