Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

They can't - if they do they will either alienate a huge number of their group think followers, the ones who lost their shit about someone actually having to pay for a degree - or - they go against every medical establishment in the country and independent expert and look stupid.

So instead they say nothing.

What is even more concerning is that the Lib Dems regularly accept donations from a pharma company [Fering] that manufacture puberty blockers. Apparently £1.4 million over a number of years.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 04/09/2024 10:07

This is what a captured party looks like. Embarrassed silences in the face of science and children's welfare for fear of upsetting two groups - their paymasters (big pharma) and their anti women cohort.

Unfit for public office, the lot of them.

My Lib Dem MP tweeted a supportive post on the Cass review, only to delete it shortly afterwards. The party brooks no dissent.

Write to them. Ask them to give an opinion. Stand up and be counted.

I wrote to my Lib Dem MP asking if he would commit to supporting Cass and he couldn’t even bring himself to answer the question. Just waffled on about the most marginalised minority blah blah blah.

Have done. And I've done plenty of standing up and being counted thank you, for seven long bloody years. 😡

Quite why you feel the need to be defensive I don't know. Other than perhaps having a LD MP?

Weirdly found a relevant transreddit post about a LD MP reply supporting Cass -

Why do you feel the need to tell someone to 'stand up and be counted' when you have no idea about what someone has done in this fight?

Give your head a wobble.

Why do you feel the need to get on a soapbox and have a pop at someone?
Stand up and be counted - if you already are - happy days, stand up twice.

If I want to be ordered about by a total stranger, I'll join the army.

Meanwhile...for anyone who is interested in knowing more about the bonkers views of many Lib Dem MPs and members, and what is being done to prevent their crazy policies being pushed through, you can do no better than follow the brilliant women who are trying to change their party from the inside. If you don't like being encouraged to take action, I suggest you either ignore it, or actually take some action - either way, just move on.
This forum is specifically about talking, but clearly especially about actually doing, not sitting on your bum doing nothing. I suggest if you're offended by that it's because of how you feel, not what others are saying - and not even saying to you.
