Trans Ideology is not a single issue

From another thread, it's worth listing all the ways trans ideology has affected and continues to affect women's and children's lives.

OP posts:

NHS language has been confused, muddled, and deliberately obscured regarding women's reproductive health.

This will set women's medicine back hugely - how can we discuss women's reproductive health if we cannot say the word woman?

Children, especially autistic children, are now thinking they can be born in the wrong body and that puberty is something to be afraid of and that puberty might KILL them.

Boys think they can have periods.

Lesbians are being told they have to accept girldick or die.

Are you just going to make a load of separate posts? Normally the etiquette is that you put your whole argument in your OP.

Sorry that's me writing them as I think of them but should have listed them in a one-er.

Statistics and even the census being affected in such a cack handed way that we still don't know how many people identifying as trans there are in the country.

Babbahabba · 24/08/2024 23:15

Skewing of male/female violent and sexual offence statistics.

All the related issues that come with imprisonment.

Sports.

Compelled speech (such as mandatory use of wrong sex pronouns and use of workplace pronoun rituals) as a form of gaslighting and coercive control. These tactics may be felt even more keenly by survivors of abusive relationships. And in many situations there is an implied threat to safety or livelihood if you do not comply.

Its an invitation to others on FWR to add what they think. An OP is not about saying this is it!

Many many threads are about building up a collective picture.

You could contribute by adding issues you think are part of it.

Or arguing it is a single issue!

That's why its a thread, not an opinion piece publish with no interest in comments Grin

In fact I would argue it is a single issue. ie that men want to control and colonise women.

But the ways in which they do this, and large sections of society are complicit do need to be spelt out, as too many are still are the "be kind" stage.

Unless we continue to point these out we will never get beyond the "be kind" approach.

Safety/safeguarding issues in relation to school mixed sex toilets, changing areas and school trip sleeping arrangements. Complete overstepping by schools of interference in family life in terms of what children will be taught as fact about gender (much of which is contested). And the push for social transitioning of children in schools without consulting the parents when before now they couldn't even hand out a paracetamol or do a day trip to the library without express parental consent.

lonelywater · 25/08/2024 01:14

over arching every other particular single aspect of gender bollocks is that the credence it has, and gains, lends substance to the notion that reality is somehow negotiable and/or optional. Flat earth? yeah, sure. Planet ruled by shape shifting alien lizards? Why not? I would love to know, as a percentage, how many gender mentalists there actually are (I suspect its a very small number of very shouty people) but there does seem to be a hell of a lot of complete nutters out there.

That's how I see it. Control, colonise, and make women and children sexually available to them whenever and wherever they want. It's the successful face of the MRA, incel and NAMBLA/PIE type movements, with a hefty dose of eugenics thrown in (notice it's the homosexual and autistic kids heavily targeted by TAs).

Essentially it is about silencing women. Afghanistan is well down the road.
Australia have played a blinder with the Tickle vs Giggle verdict.
The direction of travel is the same.
Change the language, ban certain words, remove women's sex based rights. Groom children.
Capture institutions.
It has all been going swimmingly for years.

'Queer theory' - undermine, destabilise, corrode and erode societal norms.

Detach words from their meanings and untether from material reality.

Create new words with shifting or undefined definitions and insist people must use them including to describe themselves.

Introduce arbitrary, confusing and pointless rules that are enforced by shaming and approbation.

Chant slogans that are tautological statements or patent untruths.

Bang on about dog whistles.

Claim the definition of words now includes that which the word explicitly excluded - woman can include man. Thereby break down the whole idea of categories.

Render language useless.

Those who would have us believe absurdities ....

Sooz41 · 25/08/2024 11:10

Previously same-sex services removed from women experiencing homelessness, domestic violence, trauma of sexual violence/abuse or sensitive female health issues. The opportunity cost of women self excluding from these services because they cannot be guaranteed privacy or safety from secondary victimisation by males is incalculable.

ChaChaChooey · 25/08/2024 11:44

Family alienation - believers in gender identity are encouraged to cut non-believers out of their lives completely.

Similar to Scientologists.

Its a good idea. It means we can reply to individual points rather than replies just getting lost in the mix

Boys think they can have periods.

This one particularly annoys me. It leaves it open for "What are you complaining about? Boys get periods too!".
