On Wednesday 11th September, we will be going to the UK Parliament to lobby MPs to stand up for single-sex services and make the Equality Act clear. Will you join us?

The new government has said it will protect single-sex services for women, but it hasn’t said how. The current approach isn’t working. Service providers and employers are afraid to uphold clear rules. Women are being forced to undress in front of trans-identified males in their workplaces and leisure facilities, are being searched by trans-identified male police officers, and cannot be confident that “same-sex” healthcare provision or support after domestic abuse or rape will be genuinely female-only. What is a lobby day?A lobby day is when people go to Parliament together to speak to their MPs. I was only there for the photo & pub, but the atmosphere was amazing. My MP’s fixed a meeting with me & other constituents for October, and I’m sure the pressure of numbers helped with that.

How come you didn’t get to speak to them?

I was there too. The atmosphere in the queue, at the gathering on the green and afterwards in the pub was absolutely amazing. So much strength and solidarity. Everyone was chatting and sharing their experiences.

I got no response from my MP beforehand or to the 'green card' on the day but he's since written offering to arrange a meeting. So that's result number 1.

And result number 2 is that I'm now in touch with some real life lovely like-minded women.
