Why do these companies keep doing this to themselves? Mind boggling!

Do these companies not do market research on their existing and potential customer bases?

The bit about climate change made me snort. They do know they use fossil fuel in the tanks of these things, don't they?

As for the rest....this is just not going to wash with the macho culture Harley owners are part of. It's not their strength, this is just marketing suicide.

The article mentions Dykes on Bikes. In Melbourne they led the pride parade for decades. I joined the march in 2017 and there was lots of talk about how they should be ditched because they were holding the line and refusing to become the good sort of c**k sucking lesbians. (For clarity that's my way of putting it, not the language the approbrium-filled were using - that was all "They're not inclusive" and "Why can't they just be kind?")
I have no idea how that's all panned out now.
I don't imagine Harley's new whizz marketing bloke has a grasp of any of that history, so with rednecks on the right and progressive "queers" on the left the lesbians will be completely invisibilised.

Motorcycle gangs have not historically been good to women and girls, so to me it s a good thing to see this huge brand doing something about that.
