I'm usually pretty relaxed around the gender debate, but this actually stopped me applying for a head office role because it seems discriminatory to women who do not believe this classification is possible
Am I being silly?

If you get the job maybe you can influence this kind of thing.

Not applying doesn't make sense, holding yourself back for who, a man to take the role?

bittertwisted · 01/08/2024 16:02

I've applied for lots of jobs recently and I have not seen this

No, you're not. I don't know what you can do about it, especially if you do actually want the job, though.

Women + transwomen is exactly the same category as men + transmen. And non-binary. And Other. And, let's face it. Prefer Not To Say. So why do they even bother?

It does sound like it's not a good fit for you OP. I wouldn't want to work for an organisation that pretends humans can change sex, or indeed have no sex. How silly of them. Good employees are hard to find and worth their weight in gold. Take your skills and work ethic to a grown up company who are better equipped for the real world.

They are the diversity questions, and of course you don't have to answer
It just surprised me, I see them as a progressive organisation

Unfortunately they think they are being progressive.
