Letter to the Secretary of State with responsibility for women and equalities: GRA reform – lessons from Scotland from MBM

On 23 July 2024, Murray Blackburn Mackenzie wrote to the Rt Hon Bridget Phillipson MP, Secretary of State with responsibility for women and equalities.

In light of the Labour Party’s manifesto commitment to reform the Gender Recognition Act 2004 (GRA), we wrote to share our experience of the Scottish Government’s handling of proposals to reform this legislation in recent years and to urge the UK Government to learn from this when it comes to take forward its own commitment.

Thank you for the link; excellent letter as always from MBM.

I only skim read it last night as bit late. And on re-reading still haven't taken it all in.

But thought not only worth sharing now, but somehow bookmarking / saving so that when Labour starts the process of trying to reform the GRA we will all have this point by point analysis to hand.

Also really glad they highlighted the treatment of Tran Windows.

I cant take it all in in one sitting either, but what I've read so far looks very promising.
