It is hideously unfair, hihelenhi.
Never forget how the Guardian reviewed Roisin Murphy’s album last year, describing it as a ‘masterful album with an ugly stain’.
The ugly stain? She wrote on her private Facebook page that puberty blockers were terrible for kids and Big Pharma was laughing all the way to the bank. A mainstream but privately held opinion, with not an ounce of hate in it, just concern for vulnerable children, yet the mob - including the Guardian - rounded on her. She has of course been proved to be correct about puberty blockers, considering the Cass Review and the government’s response.
I wonder how any of Gaiman’s future work will be reviewed from now on. The Guardian and their ilk will probably continue to fawn over him.
