Bit worried about France right now.
Macron has taken a pot shot at his opponents on the political left (with whom the current prime minister Gabriel Attal is talking about forming a coalition if the far right don't win an overall majority) saying that their key policy is to allow people to change their legal gender just by popping down to the town hall. He's been accused of transphobia by both the left and by some within his own party. He's not wrong, but days before he is set to suffer a heavy defeat in the parliamentary elections is not the time to be saying such things in my opinion.
So it's either going to be a far right government with a 28 year old TikToker as prime minister, or the left with full self ID on the agenda.
And in the same week we could plausibly have a Labour government with the Lib Dems in opposition in the UK.
Women's rights feel very fragile right now.
