Swinney contradicts SNP gender policies to demand ‘enforcement’ of single-sex spaces

John Swinney has again contradicted his government’s gender policies after he called for “enforcement” of rules allowing biological males to be banned from female spaces.

The First Minister on Tuesday said he backed provisions which allow for biological men who identify as women to be excluded from settings such as women’s changing rooms and rape crisis centres, and that these should be “applied”.

The SNP leader also restated his belief that there are only two genders – male and female – while facing questions from voters during a BBC Radio Scotland phone-in.

This is the SNP throwing everything at the electorate to gain a few votes from Labour. Even though they are responsible for this s*show in Scotland..

Jane from Scotland is awesome in that clip - really made a detailed and relevant point and pulled Swinney up on his useless answer.

This is absolutely nothing to do with polling showing that the largest group of undecided voters are older women.

Go Jane! She is quite right. Swinney "I understand the seriousness and significance of these issues" and apparently the ERCC is apparently reviewing their conduct. Hmm, why is there anything to review? How did they get away with it in the first place? "These issues" have been known for a long time, and facilitated by the SNP, as Jane says. "It's not good enough, John!"

Jane challenged John Swinney magnificently on Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre being headed by a man who identifies as a woman and who tells rape victims to reframe their trauma if they have a problem with males who pretend to be women providing their counselling service. The ERCC has recently receive a damning indictment by an Employment Tribunal but the CEO (no GRC, no counselling qualifications but plenty of access to vulnerable women) remains in post to carry on re-educating rape victims in new think. To which Swinney’s answer was that this should be sorted out by the organisation, omitting to mention of course, that the Scottish Government funds ERCC handsomely with taxpayers’ money and is in a very good position to sort it out, you might think. It’s not good enough, John.

And equally the organisation (funded by Government?) set up to ensure charities meet guidelines and standards - Scottish Charity Regulator.
