EDI training/diversity questionnaires

I've just filled in a diversity questionnaire, the questions are under headings on:

Gender
Disability
Religion or belief
Age
Race
Sexual orientation

Can anyone help me understand why only 6 of the protected characteristics are being asked about? No headings or questions about sex (other than does your gender match your sex assigned at birth, under the gender heading) pregnancy or marriage. What do organisations actually use this data for? Do they have to report it to anyone or is it just for internal purposes? And what purposes?

I thought with the Maya Forstater case, gender critical beliefs are WORIADS - should these forms/questions not reflect the existence of both belief sets?

Who is training all these hr people in what to include on their forms?

So many questions but too scared to ask at work!

Gender isn't even one of the protected characteristics. It's sex and gender reassignment that should be on the list

I’d ask. Put on your sweetest, nosey innocent toddler face and say ‘I don’t understand, and maybe I misunderstand but surely…’

I know! They've muddled sex and gender identity under one heading! I'm sad because I had my organisation down as pretty bloody fab on the hr front. They are also lovely in so many ways, I truly believe they are just trying to do the right thing.

But I'm also wondering why marriage and pregnancy are not asked about either! Don't think I have ever seen any questions about that, even before the gender debate got going.

So how are hr policies put together? Where do they get their guidance?

Am psyching myself up for this!
