So 'respectful'. Poor little vulnerable thugs.

The comments have it nailed. The police are a politically captured disgrace.

I watched the footage of this last night, including the live stream and some Twitter videos of the walk from Victoria Gardens. It was chilling and has been on my mind since. I'm a Brighton resident but I'm not in great physical health at the moment so didn't feel brave enough to go. It was disgusting how that line of police officers just let them past. Were they scared? How the fuck do they think women feel? I have great respect for the attendees.

I also had a look at the instagram page for the trans liberation collective (think that's what they're called) and their fictitious version of events. It reminded me of how perpetrators of DV twist things and provoke, only on a mass scale. I'd be willing to bet at least half of the men shouting abuse at women and getting in their faces don't give a fuck about trans rights and I fear for the women in their lives and futures.

That B&H News seem to be the only newspaper reporting on this, I have no words.

For BH News click the speech bubble on the top right of the article. For the Argus scroll down.

Has any Labour Party politician ever spoken up about these continual attacks on women by masked and balaclava-clad men (bar Rosie)? I can't recall anything.

At least reading those comments in the Argus, from female and male readers, was a bit heartening.

I can't read the Argus article, it wants me to subscribe despite clearing cookies etc. Would anybody be kind enough to c&p?

duc748 · 28/06/2024 12:40

Any good, Vic?

I saw the tail end of this incident in real life. The horrific thing was how young the protesters were. It was so obviously just a game for them and they were elated to have caused so much chaos.

No.

It's only women who are exhorted to be compassionate, respectful, 'kind', (submissive, enabling, to lie as required)

They identify as these nasty bits not happening. Like they identify as other nasty facts not existing. Such as sex. And reality. And women.

I will wait for them to 'identify' that global warming doesn't exist, and that the sewage is gone from the rivers. There will no doubt be arrests for any populace who decline to pretend on command.

Ah thanks Duc but it's the Argus article I can't read. It's weird as it lets me read other articles, just not this one.

Me too re: the Argus - never had this issue before.

Treaclewell · 29/06/2024 11:45

I got fed up of some guy claiming the majority of Brightonians agreed with the "counter protestors" that I've commented. And now I;m concerned that someone will start attacking me. A whole city because it has a few more trans than the average is all anti LWS, unbelievable.

Looking at the stream, am I correct in thinking the LWS turnout was quite a bit lower than the previous year? I get the impression women are becoming more scared to attend these events, I know I certainly am.
