As the title says another former Tavistock clinician has started their own service "assessing" under 18s all for the low low price of £1500 per assessment, oh and this is the dr who said a girl should get puberty blockers because she liked Thomas the tank engine as a small child 🙄

Dignity Gender Assessment Services in Leeds, a new gender clinic for children, has been launched by ex-NHS psychologist Dr Heather Wood, who worked for years at the Tavistock.

If it was purely a matter of ideology with these doctors surely they’d give the prescriptions without charging the patients more than a nominal fee. It seems like it’s a nice little money earner for them.

The person running it is particularly worrying given their background.

They are not doctors and cannot prescribe anything. And no provider in the UK is (currently) permitted to prescribe PBs to <18s. So I am not sure what a £1500 diagnosis of dysphoria gives you - maybe they are hoping a tame GP will prescribed through the 'bridging prescription' loophole. Or a future prescription if/when restrictions ease.
