Aargh "Chestfeeding"

DD has been found to have raised prolactin levels. GP suspects a prolactinoma.

On Googling this I discovered:

"Loss of interest in sex. Milky discharge from your nipples when not pregnant or chestfeeding (galactorrhea)"

How much longer are we going to have to tolerate this bullshit? It makes me so angry.

It’s makes no bloody sense. Men have breast tissue too!

TicklishLemur · 18/06/2024 22:18

Hope your DD is ok x

Of all the words mangled in the name of inclusion, chestfeeding is the most ridiculous.

If men have a prolactinoma, one of the listed symptoms is enlarged breast tissue. What with all humans having such tissue to one degree or another.

If men were able to feed a baby using their body, they would be breastfeeding using their breasts. No trans identity required because men have breasts.

Thank you. She's going to have an MRI.

Yes. They cannot breastfeed, though.

Not the point I was making. Having said that, men with prolactinomas can produce breast milk in rare cases.

As a staunch breastfeeder who came through blood, sweat and tears to do so, I find the term 'chest feeding' so offensive and demeaning that I daren't type any more as I'm so angry.

Same here.
I can't bear it that the term "breastfeeding" has been superseded in order to pacify a bunch of men.

I mean, chestfeeding gives me the rage but then I came across "bodyfeeding" and I wanted to burn the internet down.

Bodyfeeding?
WTF

So just to pacify a bunch of men, the word for feeding our babies has been taken from us.
Hmm

Eurghhh! Who came up with that? "Bodyfeeding" conjures up images of Hannibal Lecter or vampires for me!

aloris · 19/06/2024 22:30

Makes me think of Alien or an X-files episode.

puffyisgood · 19/06/2024 22:40

i could be wrong but I thought the term 'chestfeeding' had been invented to pacify those 'trans men' who were perfectly happy to, in a manly way, get knocked up, give birth, rear a child, and so on, but who got horribly triggered at the b-word being used to describe their chests?

I'm sure that's the reason.

OP posts:
Userxyd · 19/06/2024 23:07

I hope that's the reason rather than for the handful of seriously obscene cases of men who take inordinate volumes of hormones so they can actually produce some kind of chemical ridden milk from their breasts
