I had been wondering what Blair in his political prime would have made of the trans issue. I'd like to think he was astute politician enough to go with the common sense majority and not make himself look stupid being unable to answer basic questions. But of course he was heavily influenced by US foreign policy, so may have been suggestible to gender-woo from that direction.

Is he just being thick? Does he think that ‘reassigning gender’ is literally having the opposite sex’s sex organs fashioned by surgeons?
